Propably 3 english Force of Wills from EMA to swap with my 3 german Force of Wills from Alliances.
With the old ones at >34€ and the new ones at >68€ i would never pay beyond 100€ just to fix art and language.
As a commander, maybe Hazezon Tamar. He was <50€ somewhen, which i already found laughable, but now he sits around 100€...
Other than that i'm honestly fine. ABUR duals aren't as important in EDH, none of the super crazy expensive cards do appeal to me as much. I'd much rather take 2.000€ of store credit than an actual Tabernacle.

I'm in agreement there - rather than one super expensive card, I'd prefer a comparable amount in store credit. ABUR's are nice if you have them, but it's absolutely not necessary for a fully functional reasonably competitive deck. Anything top tier expensive I'd get would 100% just be to show off my couture finery, dahling. And that's cool but I'm a pragmatist when it comes to this game.
I wish I could say the same. It's probably worth more, but not by that much. I just don't have the expendable income to afford the pieces that would rise in price that significantly so I probably won't ever see that level of value gain.
All that's pretty well apropos of nothing though considering this is an entirely theoretical discussion.
Mana Crypt, a set of fetchlands, a set of Moxen, and Timetwister
I know that's more than one, sorry! They're just too expensive, or else I'd be using them. Well, the moxen and the crypt I'd probably only put in one deck, and that deck would be reserved only for certain agreed-upon games because it would be too powerful to be fair against most decks.
Aside from the 3 ABU duals that I can never afford now.... The Abyss Love everything about the card and I'll definitely never own one.
I used to run mine in my Mogis, God of Slaughter group slug deck. Once Mogis, God of Slaughter became a creature, I could have The Abyss target my commander, which would have no effect, while still punishing the rest of the table.
Timetwister, hands down. It is such a useful card and I think it could be an auto include in blue, but Mizzex definitely wants one, as does my cube. Just about every other high dollar card I don't own would be situational and require a specific deck, like Tabernacle or Workshop.
That, and The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. Yes, I'm a sick bastard. But a sick bastard unwilling to spend >$2000 on one card.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
ABUR duals would be nice but shocks are a decent approximation. Mox Opal would definitely help my Breya deck. Mox Diamond would be handy in various decks.
Well, trading my Moat means I don't have one now for my Lyra deck. On the other hand, I got a Judge foil Gaea's Cradle with it, so I can't regret it too much.
But yeah, probably Moat. All the others I really want, I have. (My darling spoils me so much, and for my birthday and Christmas and our anniversary, he always gets me Magic cards. This year, he got me the Masterpiece Teferi and Liliana... <3)

Until a couple of years ago, the answer to this was always Moat. Now that I have had it these past years, Kaalia is still the only deck I play it in. Though it was only a $225 copy (Italian), I kind of regret it, tbh. It'll make good sell fodder though if I ever cashed out. I suppose that goes for my Grim Tutor as well, though that has had far more playability.
I have most of the Commander staples now after trading in most of my collection of jank (e.g. fetches, cradle, mana crypt, mana drain).
However, I don't think I'll ever be able to get the ABU duals or Timetwister. Would definitely welcome another non-tournament-legal print of any of these to bolster the casual market.
I own most of what I would want (Timetwister, OG English Mana Crypt, The Abyss, a singleton set of duals, etc.), but there are cards that soared out of reach. Tabernacle, Mishra's Workshop, Bazaar of Baghdad, and Moat are probably the top ones.
<rant> Magic prices mostly make me super sad. I play with people who are like, 5-10 years younger than me, and it bothers me that they won't be able to play a lot of cards that I really enjoy. I realize a lot of it is nostalgia for me, but, some of it is also having a level playing field. When Mana Drain was spoiled in Iconic Masters, some of my friends were so stoked, and I thought to myself "Oh, I can dust off my copy now that they have access." When I first played it, they had to look at it; they had never even seen a Legends Mana Drain. There are so many cards that are, for all practical purposes, out of reach; I have singleton copies of All Hallows Eve, Eureka, Invoke Prejudice; lots of cards that are now between $250 and $500, but for reasonable purposes, no one wants to pay $200+ for a card, even if it has fairly unique functionality. My ceiling has historically been around $250, and I felt that was extreme for a casual player. Even relatively replaceable garbage like Jihad and Mirror Universe are so expensive now. </rant>

It's pretty admirable that you'd hold your trump cards back until your meta can scale to meet them, I must say. It's frustrating being thumped by someone who clearly has more expendable income and a vast collection to draw from when you don't have the same resources.

It's honestly not as much fun to play like that. It's also the reason I'm a strong supporter of proxies - I want to play things like duals and Moat because I own them, but I don't want people at the table feeling like they're out of the game because they don't want to or are unable to spend that much on cardstock. That's even more true with current card prices. I would never be able to have the collection I have if I had started in the last couple years.

If I sold everything now I might have netted money from playing magic. Crazy to think.
