Yos, I'm having trouble deciding between which of the 2 decks to play with next. My meta is pretty causal (4 player commander), no [[mana vault]] and [[mox opal]] and stuff like that. Currently, I have 5 decks: Prossh, Meren, Atraxa (Infect), Ezuri (Sage of hours), and Breya. I am looking for something without infinite combos. Edric, Derevi non stax and Derevi Stax seem interesting so far
How would you rank these decks: 1) Edric vs 2) Derevi stax vs 3) Derevi non-stax? Best being the one that wins the most in 4 player pods
My take on the 2 commanders from looking through forums and videos:
bashing with small creatures: while i dont playing political cards or commanders, I play politically. I usually wait until its 1v1 and finish the last guy in one turn. Small creatures HOPEFULLY will make me less of a target, and that's pretty good
There seems to be only one way to play: attack, draw your deck, extra turns, repeat
it seems edric might be a bit weak defensively? If edric does become the target early on, there isn't too much you can do, since you gotta keep the tiny 1cmc on board to keep getting you card draw
deciding what to tap/untap seems like a nice puzzle. It's probably fun and challenging to navigate this dec
stax will obviously get hate
if i dont run stax like [[winter orb]], and [[stasis]], is derevi even good?
How do these commanders compare with each other? what are your thoughts on 1) Edric vs 2) Derevi stax vs 3) Derevi non-stax?
Which one of the decks would do the best in 4 player causal games? Feel free to suggest other commanders to look into as well
With either commander you're going to be playing Archenemy - granted your opponents have any idea how those two are usually built.
Let's just say Extra Turns and Stax are rarely perceived as core components of casual EDH. If you want your games to be more of a group experience than a game of Solitaire i'd clearly stear away from either.
For the past year i've been running an Edric, Spymaster of Trest list without Extra Turns and while it's rather "fair" i'd still say it's anything but classic casual or anywhere close near political. Best chances against a strong Edric, Spymaster of Trest are if you're drawing cards off him to deal with him. Not much politics involved in that.
(Sorry, but why does everyone think this is Reddit or Wikipedia?)
(Also, we need a CODE tag.)
The problem is, Edric might also get hate. People like drawing cards, but they don't like everyone else drawing cards.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
If you are talking multiplayer commander its going to be impossible to give you an exact answer. Politics and banding together to overcome problems is a natural part of commander. This said, I would say that non stasis Derevi is probably going to be the worst of your options.
I think Edric is incredibly strong but ultimately he suffers when opponents are playing decks on the same tier of play. Opponents playing fast combo decks with interaction are going to make you stumble hard and generally speaking the deck is incredibly reliant on the commander. I understand that it potentially draws a lot of cards but the deck is VERY dependent on spinning itself up that first time so the way to beat him is to disrupt by countering / killing him before you move to combat. If you can stick Edric the first time you are very resiliant after that but slowing you down the first few times you cast him is how you lose games.
Given this, I would say stasis Derevi with the notice that I don't play at this level myself but I have played an all out Edric deck at one point immediately after he released so I am aware of his pros and cons.
