Tried the Lovisa Coldeyes triple before. Amusing but my deck was jank. For me if I were doing actual tribal synergies and splitting a deck down the middle, I know I'd be throttling my own effectiveness by 50% and I'd better have a compelling reason (Sylvia and Khorvath might be such a reason); if I were just making a theme deck that didn't rely on tribal synergies I would be less reticent.
Most Kaalia of the Vast decks are some combination between Demon, Dragon and Angel tribal. I once saw a Animar, Soul of Elements deck that was both hydra and Elemental tribal. Saproling and Fungus go hand in hand.
I did once with Rakdos the Defiler as a split Ogre/Demon tribal thing, but it was terribad.
Generally speaking, Tribal needs to be "all in" so I'd probably only do split tribe if the two tribes had a lot of natural overlap (Birds and Soldiers, Elves and Warriors, Wizards and Merfolk) and even then I'd be pretty reluctant.

DUring the Onslaught block and Lorwyn block there are many dual tribals available, like Wizard/Merfolk which benefits from Innistrad/Zendikar block as well.
the brightspear pair are really the only ones that actually justify going dual tribal afaik.
Kaalia is pretty rarely truly tribal (or at least rarely more than one tribal). There are very few benefits to demon tribal, and not many for angels either. Dragons don't even have that much either. Mostly you're best off just playing powerful standalone demons/dragons/angels with at best minor synergies. Nothing like what I'd call "tribal".
There was that ogre/demon thing in kami. Not really good enough of cards to justify it, though.
Notorious Throng is strong enough for Faeries and Rogues. Since it needs a Rogue to trigger, makes Faeries for your Scion of Oona to boon or your Mistbind Clique to champion, and mostly Faerie Rogue shows up together on the same card as a creature type regularly enough.
My Oona deck is wizard/rogue/faerie tribal. As Shadow 345 notes, Notorious Throng is pretty good. Casting it once with prowl can win games; doing so multiple times with Echo Mage or via Archaeomancer pretty much assures it.
My Rhys the Redeemed deck is elf tribal with a solid druid subtheme which has sometimes won me games. When it's you and one other opponent and you tap six other druids and Gilt-Leaf Archdruid to steal the other opponent's lands, most people scoop.
I was building Soraya the Falconer bird tribal, and looked at Aven Brigadier. I looked back at the birds already in my list, and discovered most of them were Bird Soldiers. So the deck became bird/soldier tribal. I have some non-Soldier Birds, and some non-Bird Soldiers, but there are a surprising number of Bird Soldiers.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
You can do things that aren't directly tribal, but benefit from mechanics seen with certain creature types.

As long as there are cards that specify certain tribes in them, it’ll be fine. Do you have an example?
Animar (low color weight), Doran (high toughness), and the like could be commanders for a tribal deck featuring multiple tribes just because they naturally favor certain aspects of a tribe's mechanical identity. You can put the tribal stuff in the 99.

When I think about dual-tribal I desire a deck with more cooperation between both tribes, something synergetic that'd be more "difficult" to do with other tribal pairs. For example, an Animar Hydra/Eldrazi deck aims to "get expensive creatures out", while feasible, the two tribes don't have much hand-in-hand unless you also add a theme to it, like Fight or Fling, which benefits greatly from big creatures. I saw a Kaalia deck called "Biblical Bungee", summon big angels, demons, and devils and fling them at people.
