What are everyone's opinions and experiences with Mana Web?
In my never ending quest to perfect my mono-black control deck, I've begun looking into more ways to combat blue-based control decks since they're the only ones that can effectively interact with my winconditions. Mana Web seems like an excellent way to disrupt them since they're forced to choose between developing their board or holding back in the event that they might want to counter or remove something. It also happens to combo well with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth which I'm obviously already running. I love the fact that it's cheap and asymmetrical so I don't have to worry about breaking parity. It just works right out of the box.
How effective has it been for disrupting control decks for you if you've played it?
It's a pretty good way of disrupting control decks. Less effective against those set up to play pure draw-go, but really annoying to play against for the kind of deck that wants to play something on their turn while holding up a couple of mana for interaction.
It’s a very good card. People just hate it that they can’t always keep mana up for instant speed interaction. I play it in a deck together with propaganda and attack forcing effects, effectively forcing my opponents to attack each other. Koskun Falls is the only black propaganda effect I know but it sure combo’s well with the Web in a multiplayer setting.

As the resident Staxpert (or Staxhole, if you prefer), how to make people absolutely hate you is best put in two words: Mana Web. Really hurts either monocolor players or players who rely heavily on nonbasic lands for mana fixing. (So, more reason for rocks and dorks in your deck, I guess.) The really cool thing is, it's not even a symmetrical effect. With most of these cards, I have to find a way to build around them, e.g. keep my curve low and run lots of mana dorks and cards like Gush to use Winter Orb. Not so with this one.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Glad to hear this. I've added some pinpoint discard to the deck recently to pry counters out of the blue mage's hand for me to resolve a win condition, but Mana Web seems like a step up. Still gonna run both, though.

Interesting. I don't think I'll ever run Koskun Falls since I can't support the upkeep, but I like the idea of coercing players to attack each other and do your job for you.
Unfortunately, Winter Orb and other mana denial cards are one of my deck's biggest weaknesses. It's very mana hungry and kind of exploits the social contract of not using MLD. If I could afford a Tabernacle I'd definitely run it since I currently only have four creatures in the deck excluding the commander. Don't think I'm gonna spend three thousand dollary doos on cardboard any time soon.

Well, that's unfortunate. I'm used to turning into the table villain around the middle of the game, so maybe I'm prepared to handle the aggro. You do bring up a fear of mine: rocks and dorks. Dorks I can handle with my removal spells, but blue decks without green typically run a fair amount of rocks that are difficult for mono-black to deal with. I guess I could run Null Rod as well?
So far from my limited testing against my brother in 1v1 games, Mana Web has done some work. Granted, my brother isn't the strongest player, and 1v1 often doesn't translate well into multiplayer effectiveness, but I'm eager to try it out in real multiplayer games.
Well, Stax tends to make you a villain by definition. People came here to play Magic, not twiddle their thumbs while trying to draw a card to break your lock.
Pestilence with Akroma's Memorial
Night of Souls' Betrayal with an anthem
Crovax is asymmetric, and also counts for breaking NSB.

I tried playing it in my RB Mogis deck. I was also playing a bunch of other effects like War's Toll and Tectonic Instability.
Then I cut all of the cards because I kept getting run over because I was playing cards that didn't impact the board.
Now, Mana Web is really good, but I think that Conqueror's Flail is a better option if you don't have green or white. At the end of the day, Mana Web is basically a punisher card. If they want to play at instant speed, they can. They get to choose their drawback.

Man Web.... Mana Web makes it difficult to play during your turn and on your opponents' turns. So, you are giving the opponent the option to choose what is more important. Defense Grid just taxes. It can have a similar effect, but if they have enough mana it doesn't really change anything.

Most often, Mana Web is a sort of asymmetric Rule of Law, though it lasts until their next untap step (barring Seedborn Muse and friends). I mean, they can leave the mana floating, but if they want to pay for something during their upkeep, they can't use it later. If they want to pay for it during their first main phase, they can't use it later. And so on. Exception for colorless mana (utility lands, Wastes). This also applies to activated abilities.

Pestilence, Night of Souls' Betrayal, and if you're really desperate Ascendant Evincar all kill mana dorks so you don't have to. You can break the symmetry fairly easily:
Pestilence with Akroma's Memorial
Night of Souls' Betrayal with an anthem
Crovax is asymmetric, and also counts for breaking NSB.
