What is everyone's favorite/most entertaining CcolorlessC commander?
And what did you do with them or what did you see done with them? What strategies can you recommend or discourage?
Kozilek, Butcher of Truth is absolutely my favorite- he's straightforward to the point of being silly, but ramping into a nearly uncounterable draw-four on a huge body with annihilator (and therefore drawing more ramp for plays when he is inevitably answered) feels pretty good. Nothing quite like a 12/12 commander for serious inevitability.
The two Kozileks are my favourite. I'm currently running Kozilek, the Great Distortion as my mono-brown commander, but the OG version worked just as well back when he was in charge. Having a consistent way to restock your hand attached to a serious offensive threat sitting in the command zone is incredibly useful. Though you need a lot of ramp in there to be able to reliably hit 10 mana within a reasonably timeframe (T4-5 is typical).

Do people get grumpy when you have a giant anhillator that you can always cast though? I feel like OG kozilek would cause a lot of people to hate on you

Karn, Silver Golem neuters equipment voltron, enables a few combos, lets you take out your opponents' artifacts in response to a board wipe (much like Kamahl, Fist of Krosa or Jolrael, Empress of Beasts can take out lands), kills 0-cost noncreature artifacts (Mana Crypt, Clue tokens, artifact lands), and can let you kill people with your mana rocks. He also blocks really well.
Not necessarily uber strong, bot not as played out as fast mana Eldrazi or Karn, Silver Golem. He's pretty strong in 3 player pods and disgusting in 1 on 1.
Plus, something i always enjoy, he utilizes cards that are close to unplayable anywhere else.
I am yet to face a Hope of Ghirapur troll deck, but I am sure you can build one.
If I had to choose any of the Eldrazi I'd pick new Kozilek over the old one, the rest far behind.

traxos is legit, even without that many equipment.

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
Emrakul, the Promised End: A powerful card in 1v1, but I feel that this is probably the worst option for a Commander.
Hope of Ghirapur: This is a relatively new option that I don’t have a lot of experience with, but it seems quite powerful. I just don’t see it being good enough for multiplayer, but it should be a powerhouse in 1v1.
Karn, Silver Golem: This is my current choice for Commander of my colorless deck. I really don’t run any of the classic Karn combos like going off with Voltaic Construct, killing lands with Mycosynth Lattice, or locking the game up with Nevinyrral’s Disk+Darksteel Forge, but I do have an unhealthy love of Eldrazi with Annihilator. Karn is more of a plan-B by turning all my mana rocks into an army.
Kozilek, Butcher of Truth: I think that this is one of the best options for a colorless Commander, as the one thing that you can run into is to get mana flooded with these big-mana artifact decks. Kozilek’s cast trigger is ideal for giving you mid to late game gas.
Kozilek, the Great Distortion: I would think that Draw 7 plus Menace might be better than Draw 4 plus Annihilator 4, but that Counterspell ability is no joke. I think that with all things considered, this is the best option.
Traxos, Scourge of Truth: If you don’t want to play a big mana deck, then Traxos might be the best option for you. You can get in some fast Commander Damage kills with a 7/7 Trampler that has no drawbacks in a properly built deck.
Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger: Exiling two permanents and being Indestructible is a big kick in the nuts when it comes down, but the Exile 20 ability rarely matters in most colorless decks.
Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre: Having a removal spell with Annihilator 4 also be Indestructible is sometimes more than a table can handle. Annihilator is just so brutal that most opponents will try and do anything they can to keep Ulamog off the table, so be prepared to be hated on.

It does happen on occasion, but it depends entirely on your opponents. A 12/12 annihilator, without any other built-in evasion or protection (something 2.0 has over him), is still ultimately just a big dumb beater. Because he is so easy to answer in a four-man game, he plays like an occasional explosive threat in the same vein as Xenagos, God of Revels, but otherwise is best considered as a reliable draw-four... which, it turns out, is still pretty darn good.
I like Kozy 2.0 because the colorless mana symbols make me feel like I'm playing some super-secret 6th color instead of just colorless.
Also ramping pairs well with a quasi-wheel effect, and if you build the deck right then Kozy 2.0 will end up drawing you more than four cards. The counterspell thing is just a side benefit, and lets you do something that colorless otherwise couldn't do.
But if you're just trying to have fun then I think Emrakul is the best choice. Her effect is the most unique among them, and as long as you have a way to get her back in the command zone or your hand then you can probably cast her a lot. If you also make sure not to screw over whoever you're controlling too badly and maybe make their land drop for them then they might not even mind on account of the extra turn, depending on the person. She's also the cheapest to cast and the hardest to block.
Most importantly she allows you to eliminate people by doing something other than turning sideways, which at the very least makes the deck more fun to play.
Kozi. The draw 4 os nothing to scoff at
In addition the huild i had had me castibg him VERY early (turn 3, and this is when i only had lame mana rocks. Didnt have mox opal, mox diamons or mana crypt yet)
O was even producing upwards of 20 mana with blinkmoth urn. (And clock of omens to tap it and untap winter orb or static or so my opponents cry)
I was trying to decide on a new and unique EDH to build, and this thread really got me thinking! Thanks for making it, I completely forgot that colorless EDH decks are a thing. Just, might be rather expensive to build, is all. Might take awhile.
Does anyone recommend any essential cards to make a colorless EDH fairly viable in a middle-of-the-road powerlevel multiplayer setting? What would your ideal deck look like?
I really need to go all-in on Traxos. I like him quite a bit and love me some colourless gems anyway. Plus, hey I've now got a use for the stack of wastes in my box.
Hope of Ghirapur equipped with all of the sword-ish objects. Powerful? Nah. Fun to make people react to evasive commander damage starting to rack up from turn two? Yup. And it's certainly recastable a few times in the face of removal. Back up plans are various thopter/myr/golem creators, and handful of other artifact creatures handy at carrying equipment.
