So, back when Dark Ascension came out, I added Unruly Mob to my Ghave deck because, well, a lot of my creatures are going to be dying, and I can use +1/+1 counters to make more creatures.
Now, the flavor seems off, of course. I killed the saproling; in fact, while most deaths in a game of Magic, the game can't recognize a single culprit since they're state-based actions, but effects with "destroy" or "sacrifice" in their text box do recognize a single culprit.
Then you remember that extremists are often motivated by something that didn't actually happen or at least didn't happen in the way they believe it happened and it makes perfect sense. And really shows how evil I can be.
Any others?

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I admit I giggled a little bit when a player with Bosh, Iron Golem equipped with a Grafted Exoskeleton sacrificed a Spine of Ish Sah to kill a player with poison counters. There was something somewhat viscerally satisfying of the visual of Bosh putting on a fake spine, then flinging another spine at somebody's face. Very Mortal Kombat Sub-Zero 'Spine Ripping' Fatality kind of thing.
There is also something very satisfying on several different levels from copying Deranged Hermit multiple times with Rite of Replication (usually with Riku of Two Reflections and/or Parallel Lives involved for extra shenanigans). The picture of Deranged Hermit has him doing the same pose as the picture on Rite of Replication so it looks like he is actually performing the Rite, and the result of being able to attack with a horde of humongous Squirrels is definitely smile-inducing.

On phasing:
Of course, goblins cheat, so the deck has Platinum Angel, Platinum Emperion, and Lich's Mirror.
Two Score, Minus Two or: A Stargate Tail
