My playgroup wants to start to play some EDH so I decided to make a deck around one of my favourtie cards: Astral Slide.
I've played EDH only 1 time with a deck of a friend so I am very new to all of this. We play for fun and only casual, so no infinite/I win combos.
The commander is Zur the Enchanter because he can tutor for Astral Slide. Unfortunately I can't play green because of this.
Which (etb) creatures would you play to abuse Astral Slide the most in the deck?

Also, you can get Rule of Law, and use cards like Venser, the Sojourner to flicker it away on your turn so you can cast multiple spells.
Stoneforge Mystic can be good... I would first get Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot boots to protect Zur. Next, I would get maybe Martyr's Cause with Zur and Nim Deathmantle with Stoneforge... Or you can get a sword of x and y, as long as it isn't protection from white (because of Astral Slide).
How many cycling cards? A lot, obviously. You have access to 13 lands that cycle. You listed most of the creatures I thought of.. You can also do Decree of Pain.
I actually run my Chromium, the Mutable as an Astral Slide style deck, using not only the cycling cards but also madness and flashback. One thing I'd recommend is to have back up plan in case Astral Slide was removed. Traditional cards for Zur includes voltron auras like Steel of the Godhead is popular and ensures attack would go through, and you can also have reanimate enchantments like Animate Dead (fetchable via Zur) to reuse the effect of your creatures. Abandoned Sarcophagus is an interesting card that would let you "flashback" cycled spells, including permanents!
I also have a ZurAstral Slide deck. First swing search up Slide, second swing search Copy Enchantment to double the effect and provide redundancy in case one gets blown up. Now that I think about it, I need to grab Estrid's Invocation as Slide#3.
And one of my favorite cycling cards lately has been Rebuild. Against the right deck, it's a complete blowout at instant speed. If you don't need the effect, just cycle it away.
Roundabout little tactic, but you can also use Merieke Ri Berit in there as well. Tap her to steal a creature, blink Merieke with Astral Slide to kill it(when you're done), wash, rinse, repeat. I mean, sometimes you don't want to spend a spell or a boardwipe on things.
Personally I run every possible cycle-land there is. Many cycle cards have better versions, so it feels clunky to play them. I also play Amulet of Vigor to neglect the downside of them entering tapped, and Trade Routes so they can be used later on.
Some juicy creatures to slide would be Gonti, Lord of Luxury. Lavinia of the Tenth can pretty much lock down a table, if you're into that kinda of thing. There's also Containment Priest which means every slide now exiles a creature. That's pretty mean removal.
Pox, I'm a little late to this discussion, but I have a really fun Zur the Enchanter list that you can access in my profile. It is focused on cycling (and enchantments), and Astral Slide is usually my first target with Zur. You might find some ideas there.

Dire Undercurrents could be good. Also Drake Haven, New Perspectives, Shadow of the Grave.
I like Dragonlord Silumgar, Glen Elendra Archmage (reset the counters), Sidisi, Undead Vizier, Baleful strix, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Sun Titan, Solemn Simulacrum, Sower of Temptation, Reflector Mage, Brago, King Eternal, Noxious Gearhulk, Stonehorn Dignitary...
With Archeomancer and similar cards, you can use Ghostway or Eerie Interlude every turn.
After getting Astral Slide with Zur, I would suggest getting the usual cards - Ghostly Prison, Detention Sphere, etc. Having access to a Stonehorn Dignitary loop can help you protect yourself.
Also, you can get Rule of Law, and use cards like Venser, the Sojourner to flicker it away on your turn so you can cast multiple spells.

Diluvian Primordial could be good, depending on your meta.

As for creatures, they've already been named, but I'm a huge fan of Baleful Strix, Gilded Drake, Ravenous Chupacabra, and Noxious Gearhulk.
Ones that haven't been mentioned include Angel of Finality and Gray Merchant of Asphodel.
Cycling lands are great (especially the bicycle lands), as they don't eat as many card slots.
