Most cards could be Timmy or Spike, but you need the right Timmy, and you probably need a Johnny to make most cards spike.
I meant are the Cards Timmy and Spike from the Un-sets Johnny cards
Edit : as for the new card of the day.
There needs to be a rule at WOTC about life gain, All Vanilla(has no other effect) life gain effects must include the following - Be instant speed, and draws you a card.
11 year old me thought this card was too good. Now with 20 more years of experience I realize this card is awful in every respect.
That's exactly why Wizards keeps printing terrible life gain cards like this. Every learning curve needs some baby steps, and one of those steps is learning that the only life point that matters is the last. Even if you have to learn that the hard way.
The most amazing part of this card is that they printed it a half dozen times. I think we broke the pattern of Johnny cards unless you're trying to play EDH NourishingLich with Omniscience in play.
I confess I'm a sucker for older MtG art like this, more fantastical.
Yeah, it'a a Zada card. Two mana instant speed Collective Unconscious is amazing. Can't really see any other deck wanting it though. Even with the cantrip, the effect is too small to be worth a slot.
Oh Boy! Stuffy Doll! "Stuffy Doll deals 1 damage to itself is unquestionably one of the best rules texts every printed. The card is really good, sending your opponent's power right back at them. Additionally, it does work with damage based sweepers and damage doublers. 2 damage doublers and a Stuffy Doll can turn a Lightning Bolt into a lethal threat. Only held back by making you choose an opponent to kill and making you find a way to reset it to hit someone else, although given multiplayer politics, sometimes that acts as a benefit.

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."
The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!

Gisella (Boros) deck loves to manipulate damage with this doll.

But Gisela means you prevent half, rounded up.
I use it in Saskia sometimes. I like to use him to make things fight. Or just give him Entangler and flying and have at it.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

I speak of a deck that dedicates to damage doublers, led by Gisella, so it'd pack a lot more damage doubler upon dealing damage to dish out punishment via Stuffy Doll, as one of the wincon. Gisella herself doesn't have to be in play, or should I say, when she cannot stay in play.
I think the newer art is creepier and I once killed a player with this and Guilty Conscience after that they both sit in my binder lol
I will have to disagree about the artwork, but that might have a bit to do with the fact that I've been playing since Fourth Edition, and have a particular fondness for theoriginaldoll.
I still laugh(after a good dose of 'the look') at the inevitable comment from rookies: "That seems like a useless card." Full sensei mode engages there. Strangely enough, not many(any?) decks in my LGS use it, despite the number of them that would benefit greatly from it...

I've had basically this exact deck, so I'm not disagreeing, but if your singular goal was to abuse Stuffy Doll in a boros deck, it might be the one case where Razia, Boros Archangel is actually a better commander than Gisela, Blade of Goldnight.

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."
If it affected every opponent instead of just one, or at the very least you could target whoever you want each time it got damaged, I'd like it a lot more. As it is, despite some cool interactions, I just feel the card is a bit to clunky to work in a 40 life multiplayer format.
Stuffy Doll was the rare I pulled on my first MTG booster pack, and one of the cards that made me fall in love with the game. While I don't put it in decks as a random 1-of anymore, I still have the card stored away, waiting for me to make a deck that can use it.

! Interesting idea. A shame, really, Razia would've costed more reasonably in today's environment.
I had a thought about slapping all kinds of equipment on him and see what happens, I'm not sure it would work very well
It's mostly good with saboteur effects, because the damage ability is a form of evasion all on its own. There unfortunately aren't really any equips that work with all damage as opposed to combat damage (Grafted Exoskeleton is a little too harmful for Stuffy and Neko-Te doesn't have a power buff), so you really have to count on it getting through in combat to take advantage of equips. I mentioned Batterskull earlier too, which works because every part of it is relevant. You get even more of a life swing with lifelink, vigilance lets you attack and still hold it up on defense as a great deterrent, and the power buff means it's actually worthwhile to attack. It's not going to take down a table on its own, but it ends up being a serious roadblock for one player.

Stopping a blocker ain't bad, but relevant red cantrip is nice. Works for Zada, Hedron Grinder.

For bonus hilarity, equip it with Batterskull and send it into the red zone.
