Remember, this card hails from the era of magic design where non creature, non Walker spells were supposed to be garbage, especially if they didn't directly impact creatures. "Let's make a Mana Barb's variant that's pure ***** and expect people to get excited about it" was a thing. You had occasional gems like Sphinxes Rev, but mostly it was "let's push hexproof hard" and "let's put undercosted etb abilities on everything so players don't have to run spells" and "we want to make an enchantment block but still want to make it all about creatures, so let's not include any enchantments except for auras and creatures with the enchantment type plastered on!"
Supreme Verdict, Abrupt Decay, Boros Charm, Merciless Eviction, Cyclonic Rift...Do you want me to go into Theros? Because I know you don't think Innistrad block didn't have good instants and sorceries. (Seriously, I play a lot of control, and I still never got the "pissing and moaning that creatures might actually take a few life off now" jeremiad.)
Oh, you meant "except for a few gems", as if GILBIC isn't a huge part of modern design (and the only difference now being it's deliberate). Planeswalkers are mythic, but Tibalt is a meme and little more.
Anywho, Primal Order exists. Red shouldn't be doing this type of thing worse than green does. Even Primal Order can't hold a candle to Blood Moon or Back to Basics though.
There are some mana-producing lands I care about, but I find that doing 1 damage to my opponent generally doesn't matter when he has Gaea's Cradle or Cabal Coffers out. But yeah, other than big mana, I couldn't care less. Nobody is interested in hosing multicolor unless the meta shifts too far to 3+ color decks (and who wouldn't exploit that?).

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
People weren't playing during INN-RTR standard, clearly.
In the three months where Burning Earth made an appearance, all decks had to switch off 3 colors because monored would just run you over with 4 copies. Before then, some decks didn't even bother including basic lands in their landbase.
For those 3 months, this card changed everything. Now, there's no reason to play the card. It achieved its intended purpose of shaking up Standard.
Getting new cards is fun. Somebody figure out for me where that last ability came from.
Trostani are 3 Dryads yes? Now they are Discordant and doing different things, one wants to make the guild larger, one wants to make the guild members more powerful, one wants to make sure the guild members are loyal.

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
This card reflects the three Selesnya values each member of the Trostani collective represented: Life (Creating 2 tokens with lifelink), Order (Creatures staying under their intended controller), and Harmony (Anthem).
Not as good as the original as a commander but I guess she can work in the main deck of a casual token deck.
I made her the leader of my tokens deck. Shes solid and fits the theme of Tokemns+Anthens. The fact that shes simple she doesn't draw attention at first. I really like her more for the go wider variaty unlike he previous incarnation thaat focused in going big with tokens. Also i don't have Rhys, the Rdeemeed to lead it but shes still solid for the game plan.
And most of those spells directly impact creatures primarily.

The most common win condition is creatures or things like Blood Artist which would still depend on creatures even if it weren't a creature itself. Because, you know, "turn 1 combowombo" gets boring after a while (and is something us control players eat for breakfast). ⚔

It gets Crucible of Worlds, Urza's Incubator, Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, Rings of Brighthearth, Basalt Monolith which goes infinite with the rings, and I am sure other combo pieces and utility cards. What is not to love?

"Whatever style you wish to play, be it fast and frenzied or slow and tactical, the surest way to defeat your opponent consistently is by dominating him or her in the war of card advantage." - Brian Wiseman, April 1996
Next one would be Trump Mage. It allows you to to make a 0/2 wall for 26 mana, and you can't win the game if you have Trump Mage in play.
Or Democratic Mage.

When you announce this spell, each other player activates a mana ability of each permanent they control. Then they lose all unspent mana and that mana is spent to cast this spell.
Democratic Mage enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it for each type of mana spent to cast it.
When Democratic Mage enters the batttlefield, each Vintage, Legacy, and Modern player chooses one -
• Give Pauper players your most valuable Magic card.
• Go to jail.

That's just silly.
A Clinton card would say "Target opponent wins the game." and give all Elephants +3/+3 and indestructible. Every real Clinton critic knows that.

Trophy Mage and Trinket Mage are both very good. Between them, you can usually fetch most of the important artifacts for most decks (the exceptions are what things like Fabricate are for). Treasure Mage is best when you have ways to cheat artifacts into play from hand.
Do you think they stop at this one, or keep coming up with words that begin with "tr"?
Truffle Mage2U
Creature - Pig Wizard
2/2
When Truffle Mage enters the battlefield, you may snuffle through your graveyard while making snorting noises to reveal an artifact card with CMC 2 or less, grunt and return it to your hand.
Trophy Mage is decent. I run it in Thraximundar to get altars, lanterns, rings and vats. Any of the three thus far can be good, depending on what you're trying to find. I'd rate Trinket higher for getting Top and Sol Ring, but Trophy above Treasure. Truly tremendous trivialities in this triumvirate.

Anyway, I like Trostani Discordant. Two 2/2 tokens with lifelink and a 1/4 and a slight hose on some strategies the other three colors do is cool. They're not as good as Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, but they're light-years in front of Emmara Tandris or Chorus of the Conclave.
