It's easy to laugh at that thing until you realize how easy it is to make it off someone in a single hit thanks to infect. Granted your little trickery is good at making sure your target is in last place but you have quite the climb to make for first place with two other players that are now very much aware that you're not just trying to be cute.
9 power for 5 mana. In any other format, feels good man. Here, not so much.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
It's pretty great in my Malfegor Hellbent deck, that has zero reason to store anything for later anyway, and plays every other 'empty hand draw'. And even if it's a mild nonbo with Malfegor (depending on timings - sometimes it's better to just cast Malfy and discard the Mask), the way it screws up a lot of other plans is still worth it.

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
This card is red's best friend. Red has so many ways now to get around this effect.
At worst, impulse drawing gets around it.
By the way, this card hoses counterspells, most card draw (though Bob and Augury Adept are among the cards which don't care), cycling (even more so than other card draw, since you can't actually discard cards from the "Uba Mask zone"), and special attention must be paid to Sylvan Library. The combination of these two cards basically means "every draw step, impulse draw three, then lose 8 life". Losing life to black card draw generally doesn't bother me, but losing 8 life every turn can be quick self-pwnage.

A classic design that really shines in Limited, where it’s contextually stronger than in other formats, and you can “loop” two or more of them to win a war of attrition.

Sylvan Library is a may ability. Obv you will never use it under the Mask, although it does give three Mask draws/turn which would be ideal on your critical turn.
If your black deck is good at reusing etbs, it's a fine enough tool.
Why does this have to be the same cost as Zombify. A 2/2 is not equivalent to putting the creature on the battlefield. Although, yes, this card is classic in function. Great limited role player. Likely gets a slot when I finish white border Alesha (white border because I hate myself, clearly >_<)

Actually you just won't lose the life. Sylvan library makes you choose two cards you drew that turn, then you have to put them back on top of your library unless you pay 4 life for each that you want to keep. If you don't actually have any cards in hand to choose, then the choice to pay life never happens. The mask plus the library means you just get to impulse draw 3 for no penalty. This also works with the "words of" cycle. If you choose to replace your regular draw and the two from library with the words of ability, or with dredge, or any other replacement effect, you won't have any cards that you drew that turn, and thus never pay any life for choosing to "draw" the extra two (because you replaced all your draws with other effects).

You're right. That's a super weird interaction, it took me a few reads of library to really understand the ruling. If you can't choose a card, then the "for each" happens zero times. Man, library is a weird card.
Also gravedigger is...fine. Can't imagine any commander deck that wouldn't have multiple better options, though.
