I wish I knew what his original purpose was. Cast Funeral March to create the 2-for-1? I feel like there's an old combo I'm missing here...(modern days we'd just use Fool's Demise).
I'm guessing it's a reference to their D&D games since that's what most of the legendary creatures in legends were based on? I dunno, old magic was so random.

Pretty badass art though.
I think the idea was that you had a guy that could smash whoever has Giant Stength twelve turns down the line

False Demise was also a thing in the very next set after Funeral March, but I think he was more used for just, Legends was really the game's first art house set. (Well, maybe Alpha/Beta/Unlimited...) Half the cards don't really make sense in modern Magic.
Using him with Fool's Demise and False Demise might be cute. If only so you can sing
When Pharaoh's around
Then you get down on the ground
If you ever find yourself near Ramses
Get down on your knees
(Great, of all the cards to make me think of a musical, the RNG has to give me one from Andrew Lloyd Weber.)

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

There are about 50 cards up to and including Legends that cared about creature enchantments (auras). 38 more if we count the cards in sets up to Ice Age which was in development around the same time. My understanding of Homelands (and Funeral March) was that it was developed afterwards and, interesting note, without much input from the devs.
Of those, there are quite a few annoying cards such as Anti-Magic Aura, Puppet Master and Takklemaggot that needed to be taken care of. The game ran a little too fast to be futzing with a 6 CMC 4/3 creature that dies to bolt so I would just as soon play Disenchant and move on.

you know what, i was planning to make this, plus thoptersword in a spicy legacy brew.
But it's nothing to sneeze at in EDH, i think. there was also the thing with the unwinding clock et al to keep opponents from drawing, but urza actually makes it good.
i had to re-read the oracle text though, since the way this card is worded, it can be used to destroy other opponent's creatures even if it's not their turn. But it only affects the active player.
It's one of those cards you include as a "They will literally never see this coming" sort of joke to make the entire table laugh. I mean, forcing one opponent to leave themselves open isn't useless and can be used in conjunction with mind games and such for surprise removal.
Siren's Call/Ensnare was the first combo I ever assembled 16 years ago - used it in a $15 deck to beat a $4,000 deck. I've had a soft spot for it ever since, but I can rarely find a deck where it's worth running; I might have put it in one commander deck out of the hundred I've built, but I can't even remember which one - maybe Lorthos?
I like using it with Blinding Angel, but Sleep also works. Please tell me this has been reprinted (without the destroy clause) in red, right?

It's amazing that they printed a card that destroys target totem armor decades before totem armor existed.

This is one of those legends you can make work if you really try, but you're mostly doing it for the art.

Know that I do not blame you for destroying my Howling Mine, but I will lead the chorus of boos that greets you.

This is a little bit why I run Reliquary Tower, but close to 100% why I run Gemstone Caverns.
U Too much draw for your health Kami
C Eldrazi ramp Kozilek
WB All-in aggro Karlov of the Ghost council
U Azami, Lady of Scrolls / GB The Gitrog Monster / URG Animar, soul of Elements / UBR Kess, Dissident mage / WUR Narset, Enlightened Master / WUBRGScion of the Ur-Drago[/spoiler]
Both are potentially useful in Nekusar, the Mindrazer, but there, Reliquary Tower is mostly to Windfall everyone to death.

I like creature reviving and draw a card at instant speed. If anything, this can counter a commander.
That said, this is suppose to be a Selfie Command.
