I like Pilgrim's Eye and play it in some decks. It just checks a lot of boxes for me, it's very multifunctional in a lot of different decks. Skullclamp? Kuldotha Forgemaster? Crystal Shard? Sword of Asiago and Cheddar? Pilgrim's Eye is humble, yet admirable.
My old, old, old school Goblin deck (old enough where the newest Goblins in the deck were Goblin War Patrol and Goblin Spelunkers) played Goblin War Drums, and I used to bang out the beat from the 1978 Animated Lord of the Rings song that played as they chased the Orcs across Rohan (Starts at 1:22). My brother and sister hated that deck...
Let's talk about this plan of yours. I think it's good, except it sucks. So let me do the plan, and that way, it might be really good.
I do use that combo in a lot of RGx decks. Uril, the Miststalker prefers Madcap Skills, though, just because of the +5/+2 bonus on Uril.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I actually think this card is kind of miserable and choose not to play it.
I'd never play this before Disk, and usually not before All is Dust. This is eight mana even over two turns. I've got better things to do. Also loses to Abrupt Decay while Disk does not.
I like this card. I have fond memories of a friend casting and popping it to wipe my board state...only to get it tricked.
In seriousness, I never like seeing it come down, and I think the hate is pretty universal, as I haven't seen it in like...5 years of my playing EDH. SO many better options...
It's kinda surprising for me to see this card be commonly reviled so far. Though to be fair I can see some pretty jerky uses for this card and it's definitely far from a competitive inclusion in any deck but there's always something precious about colorless boardwipes in a multiplayer game.
I'm a filthy casual scrub so I actually run this instead of Nev's Disk because I can activate it on the same turn I plop it down if (and I usually do) have the mana. Having to wait a turn to pop the disk usually means it gets gripped or I just get killed by an angry mob. And no I don't abusively recur it don't worry you're safe with me

Same, but with Bind. Yes, Virginia, there are nonblue counters.
Seriously, though, it's another insurance policy for black/red. Don't think of it as any more than that. The problem is, there are so many colorless answers to "any permanent" now, I immediately dismissed Lich's Mastery. And this one suffers from the same issue as Lux Cannon. (And before you say anything, yes, I know Seedborn Muse exists. If I'm running her, I have access to much better answers to every permanent type.)
Baron Von Count likes it, since it has the three highest numbers on the countdown.

It's kind of a Glissa, the Traitor staple. I run it, but I can totally see why you'd run Disk instead/as well. It's an expensive investment, and slow without something like Unwinding Clock to back it up. Nonetheless, recurrable sweeping is strong for Glissa.
In my experience, people who run out disk into a decent board gets completely thrashed by the player with the most to lose, sometimes even dying before it goes off. It is useful for keeping boardstates from getting crazy, but as an actual wipe I'd even run something like Boompile first.
I think Oblivion Stone is better than Nevinyrral's Disk (which misses all planeswalkers and has a turn to eat removal, potentially losing you the game on the spot) and also All is Dust (which misses a lot of big artifact mana like Gilded Lotus and Thran Dynamo, and other colorless threats) but generally if I'm running one I'm probably incentivized to run all three of them. Oblivion Stone's ability to reserve your own permanents until someone makes you use it is not to be underestimated in the slightest.
What do you guys mean about unfriendly in multiplayer? It's a board wipe, there's nothing better in a big game than a reset button to keep the game from snowballing out of control on one side.
I've been wondering if non-creature decks should play this and Juntu Stakes
Seems reasonable to turn off mana dorks and tap abilities.
Creatures still come into play untapped and have the potential to really hurt. Throw in Kismet and cousins to make sure those creatures come into play asleep.

Ah yes, Goblin War Drums. Menace before it was menace.
Good at what it does, a persistent veteran that should find its way into aggro decks. Remember when this was EVERYWHERE in Fallen Empires...
