4 mana for a reanimation is not to shabby, truth be told, but for one mana more you get Miraculous Recovery at instant speed - which is much nicer for the surprise blocker. And it gets a +1 counter to boot!
Is he reanimating that woman? Otherwise I have no clue what she's doing here. Her position and proportions don't look right either. She looks almost copy-pasted in there.
well, the casting cost makes it trickier to cast (2ww instead of 3w). Aside from that, i don't see anything else that separates them.
Its not all that bad though - But i think that there are probably better things to do with 4 mana in most white decks. The instant version is probably better simply for it's "ah-ha!" moment.
Sometimes i feel like W doesn't get enough credit for these kind of effects, for the sole reason that B is usually more mana-efficent at it. Breath of Life, False Defeat and Resurrection are all solid cards. Despite their CMC they don't have those "When XY leaves the battlefield, that creature’s controller sacrifices it." clauses several of the B Auras have. Miraculous Recovery is a bit mana heavy, but i'm sure it's fun to play with.
I played Abnormal Endurance, Supernatural Stamina and Undying Evil long enough in my Gonti, Lord of Luxury deck to know that Graceful Reprieve is quite a good and political card, if played right.
My favorite part is the summoning sickness reminder. It's like flavor text.
Now I so want a card with (Reminder text isn't the same as flavor text, though neither is germane to the card's function.) in the next Unset.
Anyway, this was good back in the day, but as has been said, there's strictly betters now. I do like how modern white rez effects generally place requirements on power or CMC, so they're still worse than black, and fit into what white does.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Mawcor is one of those cards with way better 7th Edition art (a set with widely varying success rates for that) and I do like how they made this look like that one instead of the much different Urza's one. Being able to conceal your pinger until it can ping has some utility, but I feel like we're overpaying for that (admittedly sometimes useful) 2/2 flying body.
A lot of simple 1/1 Tims for three mana exist. This adds +1/+1 and flying for 1, in case you have mass vigilance or some other reason to care about it. Mostly the extra toughness and to a lesser extent flying will protect the Mawcor from red spells tho. For an extra U on top of it, you get another +1/+1 for Mawcor classic.
An aside, the Mawcor reminds me of "extra head" pokémon like Doduo and Hydreigon. I suppose placing the Mawcor's brain in the torso is better than Hydreigon, which is basically Thanos: The Pokémon, when you consider what happens when Zweilous evolves into Hydreigon.

But you need 2 other artifacts for it to do anything! That means it's fair in all ways, right?
Exactly! What are the odds of having 3 artifacts early game?
I used it in my Jor Kadeen build and loved it. It helped me power out a turn 2 Jor a couple of times and was just generally a really awesome card. Plus I got mine in my prerelease pool so I don't have to worry about modern messing up prices.
I got my one copy when I started playing Magic again in 2008. They were cheap-ish back then, and I wanted one to go with my Chrome Mox and old Mox Diamonds. Hoo boy.
I've played in Jor Kadeen, but, not many other lists. The Metalcraft requirement really makes it less of an auto-include, but it's still pretty exciting. I will definitely include it in future artifact-centric lists.
Power 9 card without QUITE being Power 9. Regret trading the one I had back in the day...I should really try getting some Mirrodin packs and see if I can get this(or the handful of others I still want from that set).

u wot m8?
I got my first Mox Opal in 2010, and ended up with several more before the end of the year. It's really good in any artifact deck. Even if you don't need the colored mana. Eggs, Affinity, Tokens (with artifact tokens), Pirate tribal, Stax (even before Mycosynth Lattice drops to wreck your manabase)

So the color pie didn't exist in Legends, I know that, but I'm still caught of guard by "mono-green instant speed kill you." There's definitely a world where you roll The Great Aurora into this and insta-kill a player.

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."
I’ve always assumed it was inspired by Stormbringer.
Most likely, considering Legends was shameless about ripping off modern fantasy literature (not surprising giving how it came to be).
Not sure if you'd call Moorcock modern even by Legends standards, but still a cool reference nonetheless. Elric is one of the OG antiheroes of fantasy and should be more known.
Great card outside of the usual colour distribution for green. It could see use. I'd relish the opportunity to slam this down on some grixis combo player going for a Laboratory Maniac win or some such nonsense.

On phasing:
I guarantee, if an opponent played this, I would assume it's willbender, and I would get got by it.

I'm sure this has never done anything degenerate.
