Ba k when you literally couldn't make mana of colors outside of you commander's color identity I thought these guys should be exempt from the color identity rule since you couldn't cast for it's alt cost anyway. Now it's more understandable but still annoying.
More seriously, though, this reminds me of the difference between Demonic Consultation and Divining Witch. Usually repeatable tutors aren't as good as just one tutor, since while I sometimes tutor removal, it's usually Stax pieces or win conditions.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
4 mana reanimation is a fine rate, but this being a non-aura enchantment with multiple connected abilities, you can do weird things with it in really specific circumstances like you would with O-ring.

I've side-eyed this card for use in reanimation decks before, but never pulled the trigger. It's no Animate Dead or Necromancy and without a reliable way to blink your reanimated guy, exiling doesn't seem too fun.

On the flip side, this gets much better when you can blink the creature and the enchantment. I could see this having a place in Aminatou for that reason.
As a standalone card, it's a pretty bad rate. Most of my black decks end up using reanimation for grindy value and less for combo, so 4 CMC is frequently more expensive than my target.

I was thinking it'd be good in BWX myself. Hadn't thought of Aminatou, the Fateshifter but it would probably do well there, yeah.
This card is niche, and considering the popularity of reanimation as a theme and a side-tool in many decks, that niche is bluntly made obvious.
It basically needs blink strategies to shine, so for blink-orientated decks, it definitely is the premier reanimation side-tool of the those decks. If a reanimation-orientated list happens to have a substantial amount of blink cards, then it also rises up the ranks, but notably would likely still fall short of the best general reanimation cards. Then it goes completely downhill from there, since the exile mechanism becomes quite the burden.
As someone who doesn't really utilize blink strategies, this gets a resounding "meh" from me.
wait really? i think the exile isn't nearly as bad as y'all think it is. how often do you really lose by having to exile anything? at least in my rakdos build, i've never found it problematic to exile 2/3 my library with demonic consultation, as long as i get the specific piece i need right there and then.
On the card itself, it's not all that bad. it's a reusable reanimation effect that self-bounces. the only annoying thing with the card is that it's limited to your own GY.
Riku of Two Reflections - Copy, then copy again | Shattergang Brothers - Token Sac&Recur | Gahiji, Honored One - Multiple attack steps | Karametra, God of Harvests - Landfall, Creaturefall, Shroud | Ruhan of the Fomori - Stop hitting yourself | Zurgo Helmsmasher - Equipment&Wraths | Crosis, the Purger - Dragon Tribal Reanimator | Derevi, Empyrial Tactician - No stax, just tap and untap fun | Anafenza, the Foremost - Enduring Ideal Enchantress | Sharuum, the Hegemon - Sphinx Tribal Control | Noyan Dar - Spellslinger | The Mimeoplasm - Counterpalooza

Still convinced the guy on Beseech the Queen is wearing a Mitra-type hat. Wake up sheeple!

I'm happy we haven't done this one before, just so I get to type Oros, the Avenger. Of the hit and they do something dragons, I think this one suffers least or close to least from the "no, don't die from commander damage, I want to keep hitting you!" effect.

big fan. Can't sing these cards praises enough. Who wants to play rampant growth when you can play a card that does rampant growth early and can be a threat/answer late?
You know what I mean. To all those t9 cultivate/rampant growth draws...
Um, it goes to your hand. It's mana fixing, but if you're playing shocks and such, what mana fixing!
Beyond that, this cycle is great for graveyard shenanigans or for using with Rings of Brighthearth.
I will say, WOTC's favorite seems to be Valley Rannet. They can't reprint it enough.
(Also, **** WOTC for making me think of cheese every time I try to recall that card's name.)

This is probably the one I look for the least in my Scion deck, the non white clause makes it a bad answer to one of the common "Go Wide" colors.

I've been thinking about doing a Commander deck for him for a long time. Mostly just for Nostalgia's sake.
I used to have just a jank kitchen table deck based around him, where all my creatures were multi-/hybrid- with white, so his ability was always one-sided (unless one of my friends was playing white).
I also always tend to find myself gravitating towards Mardu/Boros/Monowhite anyway, even though I know red and white aren't in a great place in the format.
Oros is probably the worst of the bizarro Primeval dragons, much like how his counterpart Treva, the Renewer is the worst of the regular primeval dragons. Not that I'm really saying anything incredible about both sets of primevals as those dragons have aged horribly in general. So congrats Oros you're especially underwhelming.
i think oros has a thing going for it in terms of being in lifelink colour, and it does hit pretty hard regardless. have to admit, i've never really used oros, but i can see him being quite ok, and taking people out if the table isn't careful.
Not sure what else there is to say about this guy... playable, not great.
Anyway, the on hit effect is actually pretty good. Even without the various ways you can enhance it, hitting most creatures for three repeatedly will do a lot of damage to many decks' gameplans. The problem, as with all these dragons, is that they're 6 drops that don't do anything without hitting a player. Which can be pretty awkward. And the best way to help doing that, haste, is less useful, as you have to pay for the ability, leaving you needing 9 mana.

Tamanoa - Welcome to the Jungle

Animate Dead, Necromancy, Reanimate, and if you're also in green Life // Death all exist, and that's off the top of my head. A blink deck would probably prefer Phyrexian Delver as well. For 1 more, I get Living Death (which can be most fun with my friends) or...just about any single-use reanimator spell today.

I know it goes to hand. And I maintain I'd rather see that on t9 than a rampant growth.
