The counter removal ability is certainly what it's trying to sell you on, but extort has always outperformed my expectations, an extort 1-drop is not undesirable.

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."
I’m a big fan of Extort for the right deck and I run 9 out of the 13 Extort cards in my Obzedat deck that is specifically trying to drain your life away in tiny chunks. Thrull Parasite is an important part of the Extort engine since it is so inexpensive (convenient for getting Extort triggers early and often) and it has a very relevant secondary ability.

Doesn't work. They're not artifacts in the graveyard. I mean, I like Lattice because of Aura Shards, Vandalblast, Viridian Revel, and more, but it doesn't work in zones other than the battlefield.
Anyway, never underestimate Thrull Parasite's extort ability. Counter removal, say, a permanent Fall of the Thran in I mode, or The Flame of Keld in II mode, or, hey, just cumulative upkeep, is nice, but don't underestimate the value of extort.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Actually more useful for resetting your own etbs, and especially kicker and on cast triggers which don't benefit from blink, though in both cases a generally worse Cloudstone Curio. Occasionally messing with opponents non etb creatures washes with occasionally making their etbs better. The rare card that shifted from Stax to group hug.

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"
Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
One of the many cards I’ve found here that I’ll be trying out IRL. Has interesting synergy with Portcullis. Also, you can stack the triggers to take advantage of porphyry Nodes or Drop of Honey.

Nice synergy with Tainted Aether as well. I guess it can still pull of Stax

Probably nice with cheapy critters that have interesting ETBs, so you don't lose tempo, or to get a twofer out of a critter with Warstorm Surge, but not one I'd be trying too hard to figure out a strategy for.

Still convinced the guy on Beseech the Queen is wearing a Mitra-type hat. Wake up sheeple!
I think it could be useful with Winter Orb, but that's about it.

I know I'm setting myself up for a double post with this one, but I had an interesting thought that this could go well with Ghirapur Orrery. Stack the triggers so that your opponents have to bounce a creature before they get to draw 3 for having no cards in hand.

I love 1 mana instants doing things people don't expect. The Mana Tithe, the Stifle, the Darkness. Cheap, instant speed answers are allowed to be narrow and good at the same time because they are cheap and instant speed, but when they're unexpected, I actively want to play them. Counter target counterspell in monogreen has made me some pretty good stories over the years.

Cavern of Souls is pretty much a staple for any deck, but I don't much like color hosers that take up a deckslot and don't cycle. This is as much a meta call as Seedtime is.

Lattice doesn't make things artifacts in zones other than the battlefield, but it does make them colorless, so things like Ancient Stirrings, Eye of Ugin, Sanctum of Ugin and so on get better.

Anyway, Autumn's Veil is one of those cards that, I like how it's written, since it counters whatever's targeting you already, and it is one of the better M11/M12 hosers (Seriously, Deathmark?).

Hey look! A card that was designed to mess with your opponents but now we live in the era of ETBs so it's almost more of a boon to most people.
