I'm brewing a Kess, Dissident Mage deck and I'm looking for ways to close out a long game. Behold the Beyond seems to fit the theme of the deck perfectly, and should be usable as a late game wincon.
What are some card combinations I can tutor for to close out a game? I strongly prefer combos that are synergistic and on theme with the deck, I don't want a bunch of dead cards (leyline + helm comes to mind) that don't do anything otherwise. Here is what I have so far:
Reiterate + Turnabout + Lightning Bolt/Brainstorm/etc ; Needs 10 mana to kick off, but if I can cast Behold, shouldn't be hard. Creates infinite mana + whatever effect I also tutor for.
Gilded Lotus + Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal ; Cast Gilded Lotus for 5, produce 3 to cast Isochron exiling Dramatic Reversal, use 1 floating + 1 land to produce infinite untaps, thus infinite mana right out of the gate. This combo relies on me having something to use the mana for in my Graveyard with Kess afterwards.
Less on theme ; Dead-eye Navigator + Palinchron + Blue Sun's Zenith ; Draw my deck and win, I'm less a fan of this due to the lack of synergy Palinchron brings to the deck. It's also very obvious. That said, Kess benefits greatly from Dead-Eye
Izzet Guildmage + Desperate Ritual spliced to Lava Spike. Copying the Lava Spike also copies the fact that it has a ritual spliced to it. Let each copy resolve, getting you RRR to pay for another copy of the original on the stack.
Something simple like Archaeomancer/Crystal Shard/Time Stretch fits into the deck with cards you'd probably want to play anyway. The combo costs 10 mana per turn with Time Warp or 10 and 5 every other turn with Time Stretch.
Although not infinite, but with Paradox Engine, mana rocks and cheap draw spells you can get huge amounts of value off of Kess with a strong change of getting your combo anyway.
If you want to cheese plainchron + zendikar insurgency is one less card and you can draw your entier libary. Perhaps cavern of souls as the last card?
I know this is a late response, but what is this plainchron + zendikar insurgency combo? I know the Plainchron combos, I'm just unfamiliar with this Zendikar Insurgency terminology. Can't find any cards with that name.

What other options exist?
Padeem, Consul of Innovation - Artifact value/combo.
Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - Sultai zombie reanimator.

I believe Nivix Guildmage + Turnabout is a faster infinite mana combo. You can then use Searing Touch or Capsize or Blue Sun's Zenith to kill the table, or use Nivix Guildmage to dig to any number of other combos.

Alternatively, you could just go for Lava Spike, Izzet Guildmage, Desperate Ritual.
Steel Sabotage'ng Orbs of Mellowness since 2011.
The advantage is that you might have used spells like Dark Ritual or High Tide, etc to cast the Behold the Beyond, so Show and Tell is very mana efficient.
It even gives you a chance to win on the same turn if you have 3 extra mana on top of the Behold the Beyond.
