I'm looking for cards that help me get non-creature cards back into my hand in a monoblack deck. There's of course Ill-Gotten Gains and in a way Yawgmoth's Will, but are there any others?

Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed can get back any black cards
Codex Shredder can get back anything, albeit at a pretty high mana cost
Artifacts can be recurred by things like Trading Post or Buried Ruin

No real need for the artifact recursion, but I'll give Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed a try. Being able to reanimate makes extra useful in the deck. Thanks!

Toshiro Umezawa also comes to mind for instant recursion. (But it basically just gives them flashback with the flashback cost being its CMC, much like Yawgmoth's Will.)

Any cards that would reward me for running an all-basic (or nearly) landbase in Jeskai? I'm already rocking Planar Birth.

Blood Moon, Magus of the Moon, Ruination, Back to Basics

Unfortunately there seems to be very little positive interaction with basic lands in those colours. There's plenty of cards that punish you less such as the ones mentioned above, but very little that gives you an advantage for having a high number of basic lands in play. The only thing that comes remotely close is the Domain mechanic, and even with three colours those tend to be fairly underwhelming.

I've created a fairly good Circu, Dimir Lobotomist control deck [blue and black] and I would like to ask for more ideas. I'm controlling the top of my opponents decks, so I'm playing Lantern of Insight and Field of Dreams. Also playing some fun cards like Zur's Weirding and Psychic Surgery and Ghoulcallers Bell.

Anyone know of other good cards that reveal the top cards of libraries? Or ones that have good synergy with this idea?

*Sigh* I hate to be the person to suggest it, but it fits really well here... Shared Fate.

You prob. also already have mill stones like Codex Shredder. One fun card is Pyxis of Pandemonium, since you control what gets exiled.

Also, since you're exile milling, why not add some Eldrazi Processors? ](Gatherer Search)

You may be familiar with all these options but thought I'd chime in just in case:

• Blue isn't really the color for creature pump BUT it does have a few options in Favorable Winds. Beyond that you have a couple of creatures like Paragon of Gathering Mists and Grand Architect.
• There are a few good options in Alpha Authority, Mask of Avacyn, and Mizzium Skin. You may be familiar with those but Mask of Avacyn is my favorite. Its so innocuous but man, I put it in EVERY commander deck I have.
• Maybe check out Merciless Eviction?

Probably should have mentioned that this is for a Jeskai deck. Mask of Avacyn is something I've played with, but ultimately cut for being too mana intensive. It doesn't seem like 2 + 3 should be that much so maybe it's worth another try. I feel like Mizzium Skin is just a worse Negate.

Again, Jeskai deck (not that you could have known that when you suggested it and Merciless Eviction is certainly a good exclusive sweeper). Duneblast being Abzan is such a tease.

Spectral Flight is probably the best.

Austere Command is probably the best boardwipe you'll get like that, though Phyrexian Rebirth at least leaves you with something. Same with Martial Coup.

Ah! I didn't realize you were looking for an Aura based enchantment.

Mizzium Skin is a lot like Negate but with like a Time Walk attached? Because it Negates all spells for an entire turn. It can be clutch when an opponent taps out and can't just cast a different spell next turn. It can also be a combat trick. I run it in my Narset deck. Another card you could look at is Glaring Spotlight. Its a little slow for a protection spell but it has some VERY cool interactions in removing Hexproof from your opponent's creatures then you can crack it for an uninteractive alpha strike.

I know what the closest to what I want is, Life's Finale, but that isn't quite right.

I want a Bribery that lets you search a creature from your opponent's library to put into their yard instead of into play. Would be perfect for Lazav.

Gifts Given would do exactly what you want (EDIT: I guess the pop up feature doesn't like Holiday Cards).


Grinning Totem seems to be the only other card besides Life's Finale that gets you close to what you want.

Grinning Totem isn't too bad an option for that though. Only downside is no way for me to recur it with Snappy or Jace, it's pretty much Yawgmoth's Will or bust. Still, if I ever can find a cut for the effect, that's totally feasible.
