While there are a couple viable Boros commanders, I think this color combo really could use another powerful general, to give Boros more variety and power in EDH. This could also help boost what is arguably the weakest color combination for commander.
Seconded. Plenty of other things I would like but this is definitely the top of the list - all other color combinations have at least one or two really solid legends to use as commanders, Boros' all feel tacked on except maybe Brion. They're either midrange creatures with a combat ability that's hard to really build around or bad weenies with even more narrow abilities.
Fair enough. Just did another search and your right, the boros options are meh at best.
I think a lot of people (including myself) are going to be pretty upset if we don't see an izzet artifact/artificer commander. Although another part of me just wants to see some izzet cards I can put in marchesa
I think what Boros needs is a general that can generate some sort of card advantage for those colors, since that is the area where they lack the most of. I am really excited for the 2015 decks, mainly because of the new generals but we get a chance to see how Wizards builds a Boros deck that is balanced with the other card combinations. Orzhov is another color combo I'm excited to see develop.
Boros has some great generals, but they all are extremely one-dimensional. Since I have Athreos covering Orzhov, I really hope for a Boros general who can do something outside of the red zone. (Finger crossed for RW goblin general!)
Whilst I agree that Boros needs some love for exciting commanders, I'm looking forward more to what Izzet and Orzhov will be getting. Whilst they each have some strong commanders to me they are generally quite uninspiring.

You gotta give Teysa, Orzhov Scion credit where credit's due. She is powerful. I'm tinkering around with the idea of a Ghost Council of Orzhova stax/ control deck atm too. I agree more options would be nice but at least Orzhov has a couple lego's that grab my interest. The boros options do nothing for me.
Not even close, Niv Mizzet and Melek are both great combo/storm generals, Nin is really neat, and Jhoira is Jhoira.
That's not to say I don't want an interesting Izzet legend as well, especially an artifact-centered one.
I am very much hoping for an Izzet artifact general. There was so much stuff in Magic: Origins that would go so well with that. That and a G/W Enchantress general are probably the two things I most want to see from the set.

Oh, duh, you're correct. That's what I get for posting before I have caffeine.
Orzhov and Boros are the two most one-dimensional color combos as far as enemy colored generals go. Orzhov only does saccing and lifedrainy stuff, while Boros only has red zone/combat math generals. However, as far as absolute numbers go, Simic has it much worse, funny enough. It's just that Zegana, Edric and Momir Vig are all so stupidly powerful it doesn't even matter.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
The thing with Simic is that it's uncontestedly the two best colors in the game that also happen to work best with each other. The generals could be vanilla and it would still massively outpace all the other enemy color pairs.
But instead, they get three of the most powerful commanders in the game, alongside some fun ones like Vorel and Kruphix.
I really hope Boros gets a cheap commander with some useful abilities. Its strongest generals are Aurelia and Gisela at 6/7 cmc, which doesn't really synergize well with the strengths of the color combination. It would be really cool to have a Boros commander controlling combat, like Basandra but then useful.
Orzhov also definitely needs some more interesting generals. I think all the other combinations have done pretty well for themselves so far, UG has few but you can go into a wide number of different deck types with them.
Honestly black red as a color combination is the weakest in commander. Red White can deal with artifacts, enchantments, and creatures, and with the right deck can get some pretty awesome card advantage, and white control (with things like Grand Abbolisher) gives white the means to protect itself from draw-go control players. White also has ample access to efficient board wipes, and exile removal.
Black red has excellent creature removal, but is super susceptible to enchantments, and anything indestructible. Enchantments are very difficult to deal with outside of a couple random cards, which as a black red player is fairly frustrating. Not being able to interact with a fairly common permanent without building in a certain way that limits my options as a deck builder can be annoying.
Anyways, I'm really excited to see the red white deck, I might be wanting that more than any of the other ones, but I won't know until I see the spoilers
Frankly my overall hope for this set is that the new commanders are far removed from anything we've seen in the Ravnica block. I'd love it if Wizards could explore new abilities for enemy colors. Why would I want to buy the UG deck if it's just more creature/counter manipulation? Why would I want to buy the BW deck if it's just more sac/bleed abilities?
