I'm thinking about building a deck with a few of the cards that have the epic mechanic. I need some mana sinks for when I can no longer cast spells. More specifically in blue and white.
All pretty good cards. I think I do have Sacred Mesa on my list and I'll consider the others as the list shapes up.
I don't think Sigil of the Empty Throne does anything with Enduring Ideal because ideal puts it in to play and sigil says that you have to cast the enchantment.
Ah, you are dead right, I thought the epic cards let you cast them for some reason.
That said: All of the constellation cards are worth checking out. Skybind in particular (esp. given its synergy with mastery of the unseen).
Weathered Wayfarer should probably be on your list too (both activates and lets you dig for Serra Sanctum which is a pretty stupidly powerful land with what your theme is likely to wind up being). Tutoring up Manlands and stuff like Kjeldoran Outpost is good too.
All true. Kjeldoran Outpost is also a decent mana sink for the deck. I can even play after casting an epic spell.
Weathered Wayfarer is good and I don't mind missing land drops after casting an epic spell so I should be able to get plenty of my utility lands with him in play.
I'll definitely have to look in to some more of the constellation cards for this deck. I had forgotten about most of them.
Stonehewer Giant is also potentially ridiculous post-Epic. Last one I can think of offhand I've seen him win games by himself. Little slow for most decks but if you're playing Azorius control he might be a decent finisher who can
I might play him. I can definitely see the advantage he could bring to the table.
A couple other cards I'm considering are Proteus Staff and Jalira, Master Polymorphist to still kind of let me play some cards out of my deck. They aren't bad if I have a card like Sacred Mesa or another token generator.
Uyo, Silent Prophet is great for copying epic spells. Copy as many times as you can when you cast the epic spell, then keep on copying during your upkeep.
Decree of Silence seems good. I can even cycle is to counter a spell even after having cast and epic spell. I'll definitely put it on to my list. The interaction with Mistveil Plains is cute, and the plains can put any enchantment on the the bottom making it interact with more than one card. They both seem like pretty solid cards to add to my list.
Uyo, Silent Prophet does seem very good with epic spells. I'll put him down.
Azorius Guildmage is a very good card. I have played with it in the past. Maybe it's just not my style which is why I'm not its biggest fan. I'll write it down for now.
Hidden Retreat and/or Penance can let you get enchantments that you've already drawn into your deck for Enduring Ideal to drop into play. Hidden Retreat does require an instant/sorcery on the stack and Penance does require a black or red source to choose, but just because you're setting up a damage prevention effect doesn't mean there has to actually be any damage to prevent. In fact, you could target Enduring Ideal with Hidden Retreat to essentially put an enchantment from your hand into play.
Some of the enchantments listed may just be too deep in to the enchantment theme for me, but I will probably add some of them.
I don't want to play green because my playgroup would probably just assume that it's another one of my bant decks. I also don't think there is a general in those colors that I would want at the helm of this deck.
I haven't figured out exactly what lands are going in to the deck, but I do plan to use ones with some utility so that my lands don't sit untapped every turn.
A few examples would be:
Heliod, God of the Sun
Quicksilver Amulet
Mastery of the Unseen
Staff of Domination
Muzzio, Visionary Architect
If you play the epic enchantment search card, Sigil of the Empty Throne is pretty sick.
UW Ephara Hatebears [Primer], GB Gitrog Lands, BRU Inalla Combo-Control, URG Maelstrom Wanderer Landfall

Also, Paradox Haze is pretty synergetic with the ideals.

If you have any card draw that's not occurring during your draw step (Honden of Seeing Winds, perhaps?), Solitary Confinement is a great card for protecting yourself.
Myth Realized could be a beater for you post-Epic. You could also look at the Opal and Veiled creatures, such as Opal Archangel, Opal Guardian, Opal Titan, Veiled Sentry, as well as the creature-enchantments from Theros block.
Planar Collapse gives you a wrath for post-Epic.
You should also looks at lands with useful abilities, since you can still play them. Manlands or lands the produce creature tokens are an obvious choice (Blinkmoth Nexus, Celestial Colonnade, Dark Depths, Faerie Conclave, Inkmoth Nexus, Kjeldoran Outpost, Mishra's Factory, Mutavault, Urza's Factory seem worth consideration at the least). There's also other stuff like Contested War Zone, Kor Haven, Mystifying Maze, Prahv, Spires of Order, Reliquary Tower, and Tower of the Magistrate could prove useful, depending how the deck ends up.

And then Dreamscape Artist to turn your card draws into more mana for Memnarch, once you go epic (of course, he's also great early game in UW).
training grounds is also a card you should consider for making everything cheaper
edit: also gives access to wheel of sun and moon to recycle destroyed enchantments. sterling grove to protect the enchantments even more
Mono Red's Strengths and Mono White's Strengths
Similarly, windreaver can be a beating when you've got nothing better to do with all your lands.
Memnarch is probably too mean for the deck I want to build. That same goes with Lighthouse Chronologist.
I have just needed to get a Scroll Rack anyway and I do already have Land Tax on my list.
Meletis Charlatan would be a good addition. Strionic Resonator is on my list.
Aethervial is fine, but I'd rather use quicksilver amulet.
