I'm the opposite actually. I love building up my decks over time. I have a Ghave from 2011, an Ephara that spun off from a planeswalker EDH format my friends and I played (Venser the Sojourner) and a few others. Then again though, I have a wife and two kids and only get out to play once every other month, so... maybe that's why I don't get tired as quickly of my decks. I have been debating whether or not to go full Fungi/Treefolk/evil nature theme with Ghave and take out things like Cathar's Crusade, Archangel of Thune, etc. I think I will just throw in some thematic cards like Creeping Corrosion and Spreading Algae and see what I think.
I'm really liking the mostly-singleton construction box idea brought up in this thread. I'm thinking that "packages" -- such as the group of goblins and whatnot that are shared by my Norin and Zada lists -- could be kept separate for easier building.
Yeah, I've been trying to decide how to best organize. Packages were certainly a consideration, especially for tribal or mechanical (like blink) groups.
Is it at all off-topic to discuss the box more? Like organization strategy and the habits that help rebuild quickly?
Feel free. I'm still working on organizing mine. It turns out that I had a lot more duplicates than I thought and had typed/updated a lot less decklists than I had thought. I'm making sure I have documentation to rebuild before It all goes.

I personally enjoy a mixture. I love building new decks all the time, but I also love fine-tuning some of them over time. I've built decks that only lasted 1-3 games because I decided they weren't enjoyable/didn't fit my play style (Maralen combo, Zedruu group slug, Nekusar wheels). I am also still running decks that I started in 2009 and 2010. It really depends how much I enjoy the deck and how different it plays from everything else I've built.
another idea I had was to grab 2000 sleeves of the same type, and then sleeve all my cards and have decklists. Then just grab the cards for a particular deck and i could switch it up every other week. One week play azami next week pay Zedruu, next week play Aurelia.
That's the box we're talking about. I am currently transitioning to it. I have 2,000 matching sleeves and have been recording and stripping down all of my decks to get rid of duplicate cards. I re-build a couple decks each week from the lists and take those on Commander night. It certainly beats carrying 24 EDH decks ata time, and I've freed up tons of value for trading (which is probably a good thing, considering how many cards I want from Eldritch Moon).

Oh well that's good. i don't have much duplicates. Th eonly isue i have with building mutiple decks for game night is that I really like Blue, so i may end up wnating to build 2 or 3 decks that run blue. Then i have blue but not enough Steam vents to run Izzet spellslinger and justice friends.
only 2 cards really stand out as "must haves" New Tamiyo and i want the PW tutor. Everything else from eldritch moon is meh to me.

I stick a note card with any duplicates into the fat pack box I carry decks in. It doesn't come up all that often, but I only have one copy of a lot of the EDH specific lands and occasionally want it in more than one deck a night. It only adds a minute or so to grab everything off of the list between games. You just need to be careful for the first couple games of the night if you're not sure which deck currently has the cards.

That is a god plan, Though for the less expensive staples i tend to have a few copies. So really it is only the expensive ones (Like the lands) that need to be changed. But I usually end up proxying certain cards, main reason if my LGS knows who I am, knows I proxy cards I own or am planning to get (I was playing Nin as SOON as she was spoiled (Less then a week i had a nin deck and was proxying her) So i will just proxy teh more expensive cards if need be. If I am playing Rafiq and Bant Superfriends I will proxy my lands.)
At least I use full color prints and they look nice (But also obviously fake, If I am proxying a volcanic island, It will not look like a real volcanic island, and I do proxy it because my volcanic island is somewhere in my house but not sure where, but I own one and that is what matters.)

At some point in my life, I tried 86 different commander, 12 are still alive...yep I have a problem :|
After your post, I decided to reorganize my OP by color combo, and it led to interesting discoveries for me. I always knew that Orzhov and Golgari were some of my favorite color combos, but I didn't realize just how off-balanced it was. Also, I realized I had never build Azorius or Sultai (I knew I had never done true colorless). I am still trying to organize the cube, and I'm starting to think 2,000 sleeves wasn't enough for me. Plus, it takes forever doing the actual organizing and recording. It should get better in the long run, though. I suppose it doesn't help that I've been building and playing new decks (Atarka, Brion, and Rakdos in the last month).
I thought I had it bad until I read through this thread.
Right now I have 17 physical decks and I am in the process of building at least that many again (so many projects going I lose count).
I have tossed around the idea of a modular box as discussed above, but I enjoy playing a lot of different styles in pretty rapid succession. I feel, for example, that if I took my time to create a box and then build something from it, I would not have as much fun with the taking cards out and reorganizing those cards back into the box every time I want to play a different deck.
Has anyone had experience with this style of organization? Do others struggle with the co-occurring condition of compulsively building decks AND wanting to play 3-4 different decks in a night?

I'm still getting everything organized, but for the past month, I have been playing 3-4 decks a week from the cube. Actually, I guess it's been 2-3 decks from the cube plus 1-2 from outside the cube. There are a few decks I have that share so few cards that it doesn't make sense to incorporate them. I find that as long as I have a current decklist, it isn't that hard to slap a deck back together. The biggest issue really is keeping current, organized decklists - without those you would be a bit lost.

In reply to that, I'd like to point out Weebo's perspective on the results:
As a big fan of the box, it actually didn't end up being quite what I expected. My thought was that I would have decklists and put together whichever decks I wanted to play in a night. Basically, the MTGO system with a little more effort on my end. What it's ended up being is basically constant deckbuilding. I typically have four decks (three rotating and Jaya) at any given time. The three rotating lists I typically have for a month or two, though it would probably change more often if I was playing more than I do. I put together a list, play and tune it until I want to play a different list, and then pull it apart. If I was a really big fan I'll write it down somewhere, but I mostly don't. When I want to revisit a general or a deck, all of the cards that I've previously used are still there, so I just build a fresh version. It ends up being similar to rebuilding an old deck because I typically know what cards I want to play and what strategies I like, but it also helps accelerate trying out new options because I'm rarely trying to find single cuts before the very end of the process. My lists are almost certainly less tuned doing this, but it's helped keep things fresh. I would still definitely recommend it to anyone who likes deckbuilding.
If you want your set decklists, though, you could analyze your lists to see what subsets of the cards are unique to each deck and set those aside in their own divider for that deck. Same with any large group of cards shared by two decks.
I'll add that I'm really lazy about organization most of the time. My desk is covered in stacks of orange sleeved cards. I'll sort and rebox them periodically, but it would actually be kind of a pain to build from lists with the way they are now. They still end up roughly sorted by colors and theme because of the nature of the format, but it may take a few minutes riffling through a stack of cards or two to find anything in particular. It's not nearly as bad if you stay on top of it because sorting 100 cards when you feel like changing decks probably only takes 10-15 minutes. Sorting through 1000 is a pain, so it kind of spirals if you stop keeping up with it.
The more important organizational tool for me is knowing what's in the box. I keep the spreadsheet with the full list very up to date, which saves me a lot of time if I'm going to be buying more cards to fill in and can tell me at a glance if I should even be looking for a particular card in my box when I'm unsure if I have it sleeved up. I'm kind of halfheartedly working on more powerful tools for that (things like having some characteristics for the cards with more sorting capabilities) which would make it a lot more useful for deckbuilding, but calling myself bad at coding would probably be overselling my abilities and I don't really want to do it all manually.
