I know all the combos i dont need a combo finisher or anything, the deck works (trying to be wizard tribal, hidden azami, counters, usual stuff) neither this is a asking for advice/deckbuilding thread,
i just wanna make a list of Monoblue control finishers, them being creatures(or non combo in general), like the ancient mono blue control deck that almost never worked.
Tromokratis is the best IMO, ESPECIALLY if he is your commander, 3 hit ko. Protection, with counter backup? best thing, evah!!
Still your deck offered Tidespout Tyrant how did i forget this, i own it aswell
He is ok i guess, could be really useful /fun. offers protection and pressure . weak attack but still i accept it,slow, but what the hell. it's blue. Grindy grindy dear old blue.
If you have an actual control deck that can control the board, 12 mana shouldn't be anything huge. No need to cheat the Eldrazi into play. Personally, I'd got with Wurmcoil Engine and Steel Hellkite if I had to pick 2. Wurmcoil digs people out of holes and it pretty resilient. Hellkite is a board wipe on a flying firebreathing dragon.
That was going to be my suggestion. If you can protect him, which you should be able to do in mono-blue control, he does work. And he adds another control element if your opponents don't run much island walk or flying.
On Mythic Rares: "What's next, Wizards will print six golden Black Lotuses and randomly place them in boosters, and if someone gets one, they get to tour the Wizards facility?"
Hellkite sure, i can see him being great, but im not sure about Wurmcoil,
maybe because i see it as a glissa card,
thanks for your input!
edit: inkwell, i can see him being great if opponents have islands again i'd prefer cheating it into play, but yeah if you control a board, and draw lots of cards, you wont miss many land drops

What? Wurmcoil Engine goes in almost every deck and makes it better. It's super efficient (high value), and always relevant to the game. Life gain is actually good when you are trying to hold off 3+ other people and the deathtouch makes it a wall against all sorts of things. And then it dies, and you get 2 creatures. It's hard to beat in combat and forces people to do things they aren't wanting to do against a control deck.
GU Experiment Kraj- all your abilities belong to us WB Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts- battlecruiser GUB The Mimeoplasm- when graveyards are not safe RGW Mayael the Anima- i luv the fatties

I've always seen Wurmcoil as more of a midrange/goodstuff card than a finisher. It's a slow clock and doesn't have evasion. Much better finisher if your game plan relies heavily on Academy Ruins, though.
In addition to the aforementioned finishers, Inkwell Leviathan is costly but much harder to get rid of than Wurmcoil since it has shroud in addition to being recurrable with Ruins. Trench Gorger is relatively easy to answer, but a great choice in a meta without MLD since it ensures you won't have any dead land draws in the late game.

Fair. For me, by the time I want to lay him down to close a game the entire table is at 20 life, half a deck exiled, and 1 guy is already walking back from Taco Bell. I would never want to use Wurmcoil as a closer starting with 120 life to whittle down.
Lorthos, the Tidemaker is a personal favorite, especially in monoU control, since that and UG are really the only times he's viable because of his high cost, gotta protect your investment. He's a house once he's started going, and with Strionic Resonator...
Not quite as good in multiplayer, but AEtherling is about as good a finisher as blue will ever get. Immune to all removal, unblockable, 8 power, essentially vigilance.
Oh, I thought he was talking about playing a spell that is countering a spell with counters on it as it comes into play, but I see you guys were just discussing whether he was flashing a creature with flash in order to flash a flashback or just flashing a creature with flash but not needing flash in order to flashback a spell without flash.
Yep, AEtherling definately fits here, since old good Morphling can't really compete
He is "AWESOME" the best one you can get in monoblue to finish the game.too bad you can't tutor for it ,or make it your commander (actually there's Ethereal Usher)
I forget all the new cards >.. > stupid me.
Meloku The Clouded Mirror could also be in this list, he can finish games real fast, but he is really pushing it/really dangerous in multiplayer... in 1v1 he is a gem though.]
I have a soft spot for Rimefeather Owl (obviously, fill the deck with snow-covered islands). For bonus points, Owl can be revealed with Scrying Sheets (a must-play for any snow mana base), and it can turn more mana sources into snow pernaments, making it easier to activate Scrying Sheets.
If you run out of non-snow permanents, you can turn the opponents' permanents snow, as well, to continue pumping the Owl.
I run the blue fetches so roil elemental is particularly good in my mono blue deck. Though admittedly, the 3/2 flying tornadobro isn't really what makes him a finisher.

Guile fits so much, i love him, cute little guy
Memnarch artifact, wizard easily tutorable, with game breaking effect!!
edit1: Vedalken Shackles and Dominating Licid fit in this list i guess.
That's some that instanly pop up to my mind. What else could fill this slot/fit in this list??
Thanks for your reading and posting

Grimstringer on Cockatrice, add me if you wanna
But you need to play a little around them (Shape Anew in a artifact less list)
Proteus Staff Polymorph on creature light lists
else i dont see a mono blue deck going to 10-12 mana by itself (mana doublers is so boring/unfitting)
Thanks for your inserts!

If you must have a creature though, Aetherling is playable. Also I've seen amother Mono U player use Dark Depths as a finisher. Seems good.

Sphinx of Magosi -starts huge, draws cards, gets bigger
sphinx of uthuun - huge flier with free FOF
sphinx of lost truths - medium flier who refills your hand
I even run sphinx of jwar isle on occasion, just because he is so hard to kill and the peek effect is nice.
