I stopped playing 2HG EDH because the games were so swingy - even more than regular multiplayer EDH. We used the regular ban list and whatever decks we had on-hand at the time. If I were to give it a shot again, using the deck building restrictions of regular 2HG (no more than 1 of any non-basic card shared between decks, in this case) would be more important than using a particular EDH ban list, I think. I'd probably start with a combined ban list (both regular and duel) too.
I don't know, what list of bands do you use when playing?
Or did you mean banned list?
If it's the latter, then multiplayer is a game of three plus people - whether that's 2HG or Emperor or otherwise - so that looks like it would follow a multiplayer list to me.

The few times I've played 2HG EDH, this is exactly what we've done. Seems to work.
I'm not sure how I feel about it, I can see both sides making good points
YES
- While there are four players, it's one team vs one team so it's basically a variant on one-on-one
NO
- There are four players, answers are aplenty
EDIT: We do it as nothing more than a change of pace.

Steel Sabotage'ng Orbs of Mellowness since 2011.
the problems with 1v1 using the multiplayer banlist are doubled by adding a second player. i get so tired of edric.
they're also timed rounds for some stupid ****ing reason.
