i feel as if it could cause mass confusion and very fun games(possibly competitive). What are your opinions and what commander would you use to make the deck.
I'd be curious to see they list. I can't think of anyway to abuse that commander at the moment. Though there are some cool ETB effects on lands.
One way, if I remember correctly, was to tutor up Sunder, and then cast it on your next upkeep off floated mana after Taniwha phases yours out. Sure, you still suffer the drawback of only having your lands half the time, but when you don't, you have a 7/7 versus your opponents having all their lands in hand, so it might work. Additionally, you can build it around having lots of instants/Leyline of Anticipation, so you can just play out stuff in response to the land phasing trigger.
The thing with phasing is that it not only protects your creature, but protects everything on it as well, which is a nice bonus to saving your stuff in front of an O-Stone. The capability to use reality ripple as a save on any permanent of yours, or to use it to temporarily vanish a blocker, makes it quite strong in my mind.
Also, phased tokens don't return, and neither does anything that was attached to them, making Reality Ripple especially hilarious versus batterskull.
That's so strange. Phasing is a weird mechanic. So then the permanent being phased never changes zones? It just ceases to be for a bit? I've only ever used Vanishing with Zur before it was banned in French so that portion of the mechanic never came into play.

Yup. It doesn't change zones. It simply holds a sign up saying "I'm not here!" if anything comes looking for it.
I loved phasing! I'm just not so sure there are enough decent cards based around that mechanic for EDH.
What? Not even Warping Wurm? That card is awesome! It's a 1/1 for 4! How often do you see a 1/1 for 4? And it gets a +1/+1 counter every other turn! There is no other way to do this effect for that cost!
Seriously, though, phasing is a cute way to trollolol, but really, there are very few relevant phasing cards. More than there are relevant banding cards, but still not that many, Dream Fighter and Reality Ripple being my favorites.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

I believe there is a Taniwha primer laying around somewhere, or at least a really good decklist thread.

Phasing in does not trigger ETB abilities.

The interaction with unearth and phasing allows the creature to phase back into play (unless things have changed)

Frankie Peanuts - needs to move to multiplayer.
Strange, it's hard for it to NOT make the cut for me. So versatile, it's insane.
Realty Ripple, Teferi's Veil, Vanishing are the better phasing cards that have high use in many situations.
Vision Charm, Vodallion Illusionist, and Dream Fighter are the next tier of awesome. Rainbow Efreet and even Mist Dragon can be pretty darn good in the right decks.

Granted, you can't use him with Taniwha, but for some reason, no one minds, even when I use powerhouses like Wood Elemental and One with Nothing.
