It was a weird commander for orzhov, but kind of interesting for that reason. It kind of lends itself to a flicker style deck, but can sort of be built however.
Anyone feel like the new rhino kind of craps on them? Anything cool you could do with them, you could probably do better with this guy.

Except that it's in different colors and as such, has different strategies?
Can't this guy also exile creaturess?
On a side note, there will always be "better generals"

I suppose I overreacted, but it still makes me sad. Triad can exile creatures, but it gives the controller cards. If you use it on yourself, muldrifter or similar will get you cards anyway, and you can use something like duplicant to exile their creatures.
I just feel that they made an interesting black/white blink commander, and then made this bant guy to rofl at it.
I always saw Triad's strength coming from the ability to exile creatures to draw cards rather than blinking. You could do a BW tokens deck with a minor blink sub-theme.
Triad was questionable without having seen the new commanders. To be honest, most of the commanders that we are seeing would probably outclass current standard as far as their power mechanics assuming they transitioned well into standard play.
Triad is a questionable creature in like every format on the other hand. I dont think comparing the two is very fair.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

If Triad was a Bant general then I'd agree with the comparison. Since the girls have black spells at their disposal I think you can end up designing some fairly different decks between the two. As Elric said, the B/W tokens thing could be decent with Triad.
In terms of raw power though? Roon wins hands-down. He's a little more expensive but he can really lay the beats down while still using his blink ability. Triad pretty much sits back and sloooowly generates value.

Not to mention that having the option to PERMANENTLY exile something at the cost of giving your opponent two cards is still useful. There have been plenty of circumstances where I'd rather my opponent have two cards off the top of their library than the creature that's about to eat me.
Please Help.
Just got into crazy argument over Triad of Fates card
I tapped it to put fate counter on a target my bro controlled. He then used a card to return TOF to my hand.
Was I right to say that the fate counter remains on target creature? It doesn't say that when TOF is killed or leaves the battlefield to remove all fate counters as well?
This could be a great combo if you had more than 1 TOF cards in hand if counters never removed?
I appreciate Triad as a political commander in W/B, and as some said already black is not the usual "blink" color. Being able to blink your non-teammate ally's creature repeatedly is useful, all the more apparent in Archenemy where you have multiple allies and only one enemy, to help teammates draw/blink in Orzhov color.
I also agree that her tapping requirement is dragging her down quite a bit, which means her decks should be filled with cards that would second her ability, such as Skullclamp (draw cards from tokens), Oblivion Stone/c] (Fate counter), regular white blink cards like Eerie Interlude, etc.
Closing an old necro thread. Please feel free to start up a new discussion on this but this thread is almost 5 years old so a reboot would probably be more appropriate than continuing this thread as it is.
