I never see World Queller anywhere, but he seems like he's at least as good as Anowon, the Ruin Sage, which I see every once in a while. If the player's in an evil mood, there's also the option of naming Land, which makes him into an adaptable Desolation or Mana Vortex.
If I had to guess it'd be his being symmetrical that makes people wary of him. Sure you can blow up everyone else's lands, but you have to nuke one of your own as well. Some people aren't willing to pat that price. Braids, Cabal Minion is symmetrical as well, but she's easier to abuse because you can keep recurring your Reassembling Skeleton to use as fodder while everyone else's resources have been striped to the bone and their giving up lands left and right.
That said, Queller is still quite powerful. Crucible of Worlds or Life from the Loam (cards that decks that really wanna maximize this guy are probably already running lol) really get his motor running. Plus, he's one of the few Stax-style effects that comes with a solid body to beat down with.
Doesn't even really have to be used as a stax card - works decently as removal. Naming, say, planeswalker or enchantment can often get rid of a specific problem card as it's not uncommon for people to only have one of those card types (and many people will have none thus not annoying them...)

I've had World Queller used against my planeswalkers before, so I concur. All you can really do is tip your hat in that situation, it was a great play. Also, I believe that he got Emeria, the Sky Ruin online later that game. That was fun.
It's negative is that you have to wait till your next turn to benefit. Whereas Braids impacts the next player. White also has many other options to get rid of a permanent whereas Black does not.
World Queller is good if your opponents have a permanent type that you lack, or if you have a token generator/easily recurred dude (like Bloodghast).
He's OK in other circumstances, but less efficient when you have to pick a permanent type other than Creature and you end up sacrificing something too. Of course, you can always sac him to himself if you need to stop burning the world.
I kept World Queller in my Teneb deck much, much longer than it needed to be. It's awful as straight-up removal, as waiting a full turn cycle to kill a problem permanent is just the worst, and while I can see its role in a dedicated Stax package, it's going to be something like card #10-15 rather than card #2-4 that you include.
I also got to live the dream with World Queller teaming up with Sun Titan to pick off land, and it was nowhere near as awesome as it seemed to be in theory.
I run it beside Braids, Cabal Minion in my Karador hatebears deck. It's certainly not Braids, but does beat for 4 and have the ability to remove enchantments and planeswalkers which Braids is unable to.
That being said, I haven't run it outside of a hatebears deck, but my experience has been solid with proper timing.
I always have a mono white deck laying around and World Queller usually makes the cut. To be honest, he is probably not worth the 5 mana, and I'd usually rather see something else while he is in my hand. With that, he never fails to impress when he does make it to the board.
Why no love? Is this a bad card in disguise?

It's not an incredible card, but I included it in my EDH cube.
He's some okay removal-ish, stax-ish kind of card, but i think he's a bit too jack-of-all-trades and master-of-none
Thats not to say he hasn't made it into one of my lists, but it is just the one...
