I've played a lot of EDH decks, and Zirilan is the only one I don't think I'll ever get tired of. It's powerful without being oppressive, aggressive without running out of gas, and wins in the most spectacular, EDHy way imaginable that never leaves anyone disappointed.
(Oracle: 1RR,T: Search your library for a Dragon permanent card and put that card onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library. That Dragon gains haste until end of turn. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.)
The deck plays very differently depending on the number of people you're playing against, but mostly in what you tutor with hoarding dragon, which is the core dragon, especially in bigger games. Sac outlets help to make it usable, but you can also just chump block with it to get your artifact. Sac outlets also protect from tuck/theft.
for 4+ player games, Reito Lantern is usually your first target since it lets you recycle hoarding dragon and hate on graves. Second time around, I usually go for Rings of Brighthearth although gauntlet or mimic vat can also be devastating. Depending on life totals, you can usually either go for a quick kill with 4x dragons (eot grab 2 with rings, then grab 2 more on your turn) or get multiple pieces in play and attack for a bajillion - it's completely possible to attack for multiple hundreds of damage between tyrant and charger.
Theft is also very strong in the deck with all the sac outlets, since it's basically a free attack + removal, and gets around everything except hexproof/shroud.
The deck certainly has weaknesses, most significantly its reliance on its general. To compensate for this, the many sac outlets and ramp help keep your general from getting tucked/stolen and get him back into play quickly. Even better, Changeling Berserker shields him from removal of all kinds. Counterspells that tuck are very nasty, but luckily AVR provided the deck with cavern of souls, which is tutorable with expedition map and gamble.
Its other big weakness is its reliance on artifacts, which makes global wipes pretty nasty (and o-stone a last resort). If global wipes are a problem, consider Worldgorger Dragon in a rare noncombo role that doesn't suck. Alternately, try not to overextend.

1v1 and 3 player, you'll probably go for Rings of Brighthearth, Gauntlet of Might, or Mimic Vat immediately, (Tel-Jilad Stylus for slower games) which will let you quickly get massive damage in with your dragons in a hurry, usually finishing with dragon tyrant.
for 4+ player games, Reito Lantern is usually your first target since it lets you recycle hoarding dragon and hate on graves. Second time around, I usually go for Rings of Brighthearth although gauntlet or mimic vat can also be devastating. Yep, generally speaking I'm opposed to artifacts that keep dragons around permanently but sundial is so cheap that it's hard not to use it.
in for soldevi digger. The top-of-gy-only thing has always annoyed me, as has its inability to gy hate like the lantern.
