I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

I don't even need to bother doing that. I'm a very routine-oriented person. Work Monday-Friday, hang out at the card shop on weekends, play whatever game I fancy and catch up on shows weekday evenings. It is a good routine and I don't really care to vary from it.

It's a bit more than 2 years worth of leave, and I've had this job for going on 8 years.
But back to the original point, totally going with Wizard for first character.
I think I will be going with a Demon Hunter. It feels like a Hunter from WoW done right without the BS pet which totally always pissed me off.
Whenever I played my hunter I would pvp I would always be like ohh I totally need my pet stun so I would hit that button then realize my pet has been chain feared... totally always pissed me off. I don't want to keep track of a stupid pet and it always made me mad that they didn't have a petless hunter tree.

During the Beta, Monk was my favorite character, tied with Barb. DH as a third, with mage just a step behind (though I never got access to Teleport, and that would make a world of difference to me). WD didn't impress me much.
I am sort of classically drawn to melee classes however I found that the more pvping I did in wow the more I enjoyed the kiting classes. I really like mobile ranged evasive classes now... ohhh well I guess I just liked the less straight forward approach of them.

Is Diablo 3 an mmo, or something/whatever? I've heard its coming out, but I don't know much about it.
It is essentially a free to play MMO. There wont be nearly as much for content updates due to the fact that it is free from subscriptions however that is also a plus as well in a lot of ways including budgetary ones. I for one actually hated trying to obtain new gear all of the time in WoW and just wanted to pvp so if you like that sort of thing there is a cap which will be a good thing I think.
Googling Diablo 3 can get some decent info back on it. Blizzard does a really good job on their games and they have incorperated a lot of the successful parts of their World of Warcraft MMO into diablo 3 so I am really looking forward to this.
