the bgr joint had a 9 lbs. burger that hits 15.1 lbs. with toppings.... really a thing to behold. They need 24 hours notice at least, so the bakery that they get there buns from can make the buns.
I love how the last post on the previous page for me was about Chuck Norinis, and then it jumped to five guys and burgers somehow. My vote would have to be for Fudruckers, that place was delicious. Except most of the ones around me got closed down for one reason or another. It's probably due to all the coke in their burgers.
I actually changed my mind mid post. Ruby Tuesday's Triple Prime burger is absolutely phenomenal.
@Weebo, I cannot believe you actually like In-n-Out. The burgers are tasteless compared to even a mom and pop eatery.
Have you been to the In-n-Out in Redding? I have just a few times and each time it's been the best burger I've ever had. It trumps Burgerville up here for me.

I have not. Most of the time I've been that far North it was only passing through to get to Oregon or so, and the inclination to go into In-n-Out has never crossed my mind

Did you watch it? That one's a home cooked 50lb bacon burger. Just watching those videos can make you feel queasy, and potentially give you a heart attack.
Where I live, there is an In-N-Out and a Five Guys literally right down the street from each other. I think both have amazing burgers (Five Guys might be a little better). Five Guys gets the nod for more choices on their menu (obviously), but they're more expensive than In-N-Out. I usually go to In-N-Out 'cause i'm a sucker for animal style fries. They also have a drive through, while our Five Guys does not.
There is also another burger place close by that offers $2 pints all day, every day. And I'm not talking cheap stuff, like Bud or Coors. They get deals on good beers that distributors are trying to get rid of before they expire. They've had Stella Artois, Shocktop, Great White, Newcastle, just to name a few.
Guy, I am jealous. In Australia, we pretty much only have 5 fast food chains that deal with burgers(red rooster,KFC,burger king,MacDonalds,Oporto), and honestly? They all taste like ****. Oporto is a first, because they have a nice chilli sauce, and the chicken is okay. The rest aren't even worth eating at.
The best bet down my way, is to find the local fish and chips shop, or milkbar and get your burger there. It is about the same price as a take out meal, but you don't suffer for eating it.

I can totally get behind that. I work at a fish and chip shop in Brisbane and have all the fast food chains within 10 minutes walk of our store and We still sell more burgers than anything else

true.
Is it wrong that I want to try the "Heart Attack Grill" just once to see how delicious it tastes....
The quad. bypass is 8000 calories. Its buttered with lard for christ's sakes. And then a fry bar. As much as I wanna try, I'd be scared to.
My favorite place to eat by far is What-A-Burger, honestly. I mean, a place where your signature sandwich is the A-1 Thick N' Hearty, with A-1 steak sauce, grilled onions, bacon, american cheese, and two patties, Mmm Mmm damn it's good. Yeah it's pricey, but you get what you pay for.
In-n-Out is pretty good though too, I don't eat there often as there isn't one too terribly close by, but once in a while while passing through, it's good. Never had any complaints there.

I went there a couple years ago for my birthday with the rest of the family. I enjoyed it, though the rest of the family didn't care much for it. I had the Double Bypass burger(which is 1 pound) and got a few rounds of fries. I wouldn't mind going there again, but probably only like once a year because it really can't be healthy to eat like that with any regularity lol. Also doesn't help that the closest to me is in Chandler, which is about 30-45 minutes from me here in Phoenix.
I can totally get behind that. I work at a fish and chip shop in Brisbane and have all the fast food chains within 10 minutes walk of our store and We still sell more burgers than anything else
I am reasonably sure it's the same in most places of Australia. I've noticed it all across nsw, and in Darwin. Mind you, there is this great place by a wharf there, where you can buy all sort of crazy meat burgers. Last time, the people I was with got a buffalo, crocodile, and camel.
Anyhow, milk bar burgers just tear up that macdonalds.
I make a point to go to American Indian Pow-wow's and events whenever I can just for buffalo meat burgers. Bison tastes so much better than cow......not as fat, or greasy.

South Dakota would be perfect for you then. There are a lot of tribes and reservations out here and depending upon where you go you can even get Bison bergers in some of the local restaurants.

I heard something to the effect of "The deeper into the Dakota's and Montana, the less beef you see being served and the more Bison you see being served"
I hope that trend continues to move south.... bison is much better for you than beef, plus there arent nearly the amount of disease in bison compared to cattle. no mad cow in buffalo
Being from Sonoma County (in Northern California), and the fact that I still reside there, I enjoy countless quality wines and beers. Bear Republic Brewing (Red Rocket Ale, Racer 5 IPA), Russian River Brewing (Pliney the Elder/Younger), Third Street Ale Works (Annandale Pale Ale, Bodega Head IPA), and Lagunitas Brewing (Hop Stoopid, Little Sumpin') are all within about 20 minutes of each other, and Moylan's is just a short drive down to Marin County. As for wineries, there are too many to list here. Just a few though, Kenwood, Christopher Creek, Clos Du Bois, Kendall Jackson, etc.
I also like to eat food and drink wine! Though I have no appreciation of wine (despite living in Central CA for several years) and generally prefer good beer or single malt scotch. I also don't eat a lot of meat, which looks slightly outside of the scope of Sheldon's blog based on my 30-40 second perusal via random clicking.
So maybe the blog isn't quite for me, but it still looks good!
