I am exactly the same. Man I am on these forums wayyyy too much. At least I have additional responsibilities to being a Mod so I sort of keep buisy with that between things. It is really sad though when I sort of sit around the forums most of a day and finally figure out I didn't really accomplish much in my lurking...

hey guys i just started cockatrice & its not bad, a few jerks here & there but overall i have been getting in more EDH time since i am not going to the LGS for now. whats your experience with cockatrice?

EDIT: i stopped waiting for D3 when i learned it requires internet just to play, i like single player since a lot of jerks made D2 really unfun online

Honestly, I set up an account on it and watched a few games. I went to update my own list to it but I was sort of less intrigued by the non face to face interaction. I sort of loose a lot needing to keep track of whose turn it is on a computer screen.

I think they handle things well but I just cant really get into playing magic online... It does have a decent setup though... Perhaps one of these days I will be pushed to play online but for now I don't bother with it.

Also, from what I saw I think people were either going too casual or too competative... I wanted something short of all out cutthroat combo but something more than a casual game...

agreed, but for me its a substitute since i am having problems with a player at the LGS & its making things really difficult for me

EDIT: most of the games i played were right in the mid-range, not cutthroat but not casual either

One could argue all the time you spend here is why you were made a mod in the first place and now youre here so often because you're a mod. People with no moderator ambitions that spend significant portions of time here theyre the ones that raise some eyebrows.

As for diablo 3 I am so eagerly anticipating that game. They said the first half of 2012 so the sooner the better. Ive never played a bad blizzard game only games that are so good they destroy social lives but that is a good kind of bad I guess. I am so excited for that real money marketplace it would be awesome to make some money from playing a fun game and its nice to know that if I ever want to quit I can sell off my stuff for a bit of my money back

Loot grabbing just doesn't exist anymore in D3, everyone has their own loot drops, there's no communal drops. Likewise, you can't just randomly hostile someone.

So far the Beta's been a lot of fun.

I so wish I had bothered entering for the Beta... ohhh well. I will just be having that much fun with my first crack at it when it comes out. I hate spending time on a game just to start over when it is released.

U guys just had such a good thing going.

it is more of a trial thing currently... the discussion we have had so far has been decent but I dont see the thread getting all that much use. It is sort of nice to have but the discussion so far has been a bit narrow. We will see where it goes and if it stays yet.

You are just jealous of all of our WTC support.

To turn the discussion away from gaming to an issue that is of the utmost importance: cake vs. pie. I for one kind of prefer cake because despite it being part of an overused gaming meme cake does not present the issue of what to do with the dry crust at the end. Pie does have more comedic value to it by throwing it in someones face but I feel cake can compensate for that with its it having more varieties that contain chocolate than pie does.

note: I left out waffles because they are better compared to pancakes than to cakes or pies but is an interesting debate unto itself

In general I would have to go with Cake... I am sort of a sweets sort of person. I didnt used to be but I have a weakness when it comes to cake... I want the corner covered in delicious terrible frosting... ahhhh ur making me hungry.

Although when it comes down to Cheesecake it does make things more difficult. I do really like Cheesecake but I would say in general I like cake more than pie...

Yeah they have mostly been taunting us by giving us a bad ARMA, a not great Jagged Alliance, Syndicate as an FPS and X-COM as an fps (though firaxis is now supposed to be making an X-COM remake that might actually be good.)

Pie as a sweet thing still kind of weirds me out. In fact, I'm pretty sure the US and Australian concepts of pie are pretty much opposites. Your pies are large and usually sweet. Ours are individually sized and usually savoury. And the UK does both.

American pie is disgusting, all laden with sugar and crap 'cause the horizontally challenged can't eat anything unless it's 50+% sugar.

Homemade sweets are where it's at.

RE Pie vs Cake: I like both equally, just depends on what I'm feeling like. As long as it's homemade, or a rare well-made store thingy.

I don't know how you could be weirded out by any food item when you live in a country that consumes, and presumably produces, vegemite. In north america our pies are about the size of a dinner plate and generally sweet but lemon, key lime, and blueberry pies taste like the respective fruits they are named after

I'm pretty sure the existence of cheese in a spray can trumps vegemite. At least the latter has a logical origin (brewing leftovers made (debatably) palatable).

Is that what vegemite is? I always thought it was soya sauce made into a paste

Nah, it's yeast-based. Any similarity to soy sauce comes only from the colour and the copious quantities of added salt.

What do you put it on then? An australian coworker let me try some of his and most of the office was shocked by how long that taste stays in your mouth

I find that the only sensible way to eat it is on crackers with butter, schoolboy-style. But then, I don't tend to eat it anyway.

I would also comment that if you think Vegemite is bad, you ought to try the original Marmite. Now that I find too much, despite being English myself.
