If it weren't for his focus on cube.....he'd have my vote too
You made my cube cry. Besides, I need to perfect it so that I can convince Sheldon to draft it. One time and he is sure to either add a lot more cards to the ban list or take a bunch off.
Just put me in the same draft as him. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
Next ban announcement: "moving forward, we are going to randomly select a card from this cube and ban it. Also, bobthefunny is banned from EDH."
Doh! Beat me to it.
It's not my fault your cube has delicious abusable strategies! I swear I build normal friendly decks on my own! You're just a bad (or excellent) influence on me!
@Sheldon, glad to see you back and sorry to hear about your family. Please know that we really do love hearing from you here and appreciate everything you and the rest of the RC members do for us.
So, does anyone else have a sleep deprivation from staying up too late playing the new set on Arnea?
I do, but I nearly have enough shocks and buddy lands to finally build a Standard Prismatic deck for when the reset hits next week.
Condolences on the family issues as well, @Sheldon.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
The kickstarted that I funded over two years ago for Forbidden Fortress looks like its finally going to show up. I believe I backed it in October of 2016 and it looks like the first portion of it is finally going to show up next week. This is for the record only part of the kickstarter and they project that the next wave will be 6+ months from now but their original estimate for when I was supposed to get this was like a year ago lol.
On the flip side though, I didn't kickstart the original and I spent well over twice the money and didn't even get everything that was included in the kickstarter so I guess waiting two years to cut the price tag in half is a real thing.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I've basically given up on kickstarter, with the very rare exception of whoever's behind it having an incredible track record. I would have backed Battletech with Jordan Weisman attached if I had known about it before it ended, for example. I feel like the average kickstarter campaign over promises and under delivers, then doesn't even do it on time.

Nice! Just a good opportunity or have you been actively looking?
Well I've always been actively looking
This popped up st my LGS so I turned all my trade stuff into store credit, then paid the remaining few hundred bucks in cash.
My friend plays powered Doomsday Zur, and he met Mark Tedin at a GP he went to. He asked Mark if he wanted to sign his foil Necropotence or his Twister. Mark opted to sign the Necro, saying that it would be easier to sell the Timetwister unsigned than signed.

Yeah, between the card being altered and HP condition I was able to get it way cheaper. So I'm definitely not upset about that, especially since my last real chance at getting one when they were still under $800 fell flat. At the end of the day it's better than not owning one, since proxies aren't allowed at my league.

Definitely. I think if I got the chance to buy a Timetwister for even a reasonable price, I'd probably still walk. My end game doesn't have one in it, and I would much rather own a Mox Emerald instead.

I think my wife would kill me if I bought Power that wasn't even legal to play. I'm debating printing out proxies of the Power for my cube, but that's about it. I wouldn't even get gold border ones.

Yeah, getting a Mox would be more in line with "I'm liquidating almost my entire collection, save for one or two decks tops."

Nice find! They did a good job on the alter. I actually like that they got rid of the name and CMC. It cleans the card up just that little bit more.
Doing extensions on older cards with the pre 8th edition border is tricky because they don't have nameplates like modern cards do. As such, you've either got to get rid of the name and the mana cost (which sucks because that's pertinent information to your game piece) or leave it on and hope the white text looks good against whatever art it's sitting against. It often doesn't, especially if the artist isn't very talented. The whole thing is kind of a lose-lose situation.

Add onto that the fact that the artwork for Timetwister isn't exactly a subdued piece. It's all pretty vibrant.
I got these two models done over the last couple of weeks. The smaller tank is a screw together prepainted M3 Lee, the bigger one is a m48a2 Patton that can be painted if I want to do that. I'm not sure if I do. I'm planning on making a diorama or two of some sort. Maybe with a dragon or a dino or even Cthulhu.
So I'm looking at a few cards I want to try out in a deck and struggling for what to remove (the particular deck is moot) but it got me thinking. Has anyone built a deck with a a couple of slots intentionally as placeholders where you can freely swap cards for testing purposes?
I often leave 4 slots as flex slots to change up as I see fit. Most of the 4 stay int he deck but every once in a while I just will cycle through nearly 20+ cards before i settle on the 4 slots.

I sometimes try things in place of Barren Glory in Zedruu, since if I can win with that, I can probably win without it. All my other decks have cards I'm unhesitating to axe permanently. But if I were to design a deck with deliberate placeholder slots, that's the way I'd do it. Pick a fun pet card that you enjoy having in your deck even if it accomplishes almost nothing, and then you don't have to worry about losing functionality when you test things, and you get an excuse to use something silly.

No you remember correctly. But I paid less for that than I did an Underground Sea, which I bought a few years before I did the Library.
