I finally got my copy of Massive Darkness like a week ago. I played it like three nights this week with some friends. I guess my only complaint is that it feels a little too easy and it seems like you are either like.... completely fine or you are getting one shoted.
I normally really love campaign mode dungeon crawls but I actually thing I prefer the one shot over the campaign for the game. It should tide me over until Forbidden Fortress shows up

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I didn't even realize there was another SOB game coming out, this is going to hurt.
Yea the last one I bought right after launch so this time I caught the kickstarter. They have so much extra content that really added up on the first one I didn't kickstart so I'm looking forward to getting everything this time.

I want to live the dream and Mirrorweave a Rite of the Raging Storm token on an opponent. I just don't know what kind of deck it would best fit in. I've currently got a first draft of a Mathas,Fiend Seeker politics deck, but I keep wanting to make a Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis politics/you did this to yourself deck work. I'm so conflicted.
I also need to put together a Numot, the Devastator Trump deck. Every time I lose focus on it, he does something else and I think "gee this would be a perfect card to capture that moment".
Well I didn't think it would be that easy to find flavorful cards, but I had to make a yuge number of cuts, and still have a few more cards I'm getting which I'll need to make room for.

I live a few miles from the McCormick spice factory, and when they're doing their thing it usually makes the air aromatic. This morning I stepped outside and the air was saturated with the lovely scent of Old Bay seasoning. Damn I love that smell/flavor.
mmm old bay that sounds so nice. I used to live several miles from the crystal sugar plant and man if you want to know what sugar beets smell like its not a great smell and it went for 20 miles...
Depending on the weather, I might smell ocean. Freeway is more common because it's much closer. Nature isn't going to happen unless I drive to find it - I wouldn't be surprised if my apartment complex has more residents than ISB's little mountain town. I know it's bigger than my wife's hometown.
unrelated edit: Long after giving up hope that BOTAR was ever going to release more music or perform live again, I just got tickets to see them in January.
Jitte has had always been an underperformer for me (mainly because I somehow often fail to get the combat part going when I have it and when I get the combat part going in a game I somehow can't get Jitte out that game) until the most recent game from this post.
Jitte had 2 counters on it, Alesha equipped with it and Sunforger attacks, brings back Stoneforge Mystic, who then searches for Whispersilk Cloak which I cast and equipped on Alesha post-combat. Opponent (playing Trostani and at 7 life) blocks with a token.
Opponent's turn, casts and uses Slate of Ancestry in desperation and manages to draw and cast Day of Judgment. (EDIT: I was at over 140 life because I managed to timely cast a Debt to the Deathless X = 15 which knocked everyone else out, in case you were wondering why I didn't mention combat retaliation from tokens) I briefly regretted that I didn't search for Swiftfoot Boots instead (I valued unblockability because tokens), but activate Sunforger in response just to see if there was anything I could do. Sees Enlightened Tutor and Sanguine Bond in library. Jitte has 4 counters on it (and opponent exhausted all his mana wiping my creatures).
My Vorthos side is now hilariously visualizing that situation as Jitte being fed up of being equipped and directly attacked my opponent.
EDIT: Forgot to explain why the tokens weren't a threat factor to me at all.
Watching the original It with my 10 year old daughter. I don't know if this is a good idea or a bad one, but either way I'm excited.
Outcome 1: she thinks its cheezy cus its old and lets face it, some things don't age well.
Outcome 2: you horrify her and yet another child has a fear of clowns.
I will be honest, I don't really do horror so I have no idea how good / bad the original film is / was.

*sighing facepalm* Came so close to a double-kill in my Triple Threat pod today. If only I hadn't sacced my Zombie Master, Grimace and Thrax would have had enough power AND swampwalk to take them.
One reason I kind of like having slower EDH games...anyway, rant/vent over.

Yea, I am often guilty of doing things just a little too fast. In my new meta people are also prone to kingmaker like crazy on their way out which is kind of annoying to me. It also means I need to murder the hell out of some people before continuing with my turn and don't let anyone dangle close to death.
I had one the other day where I totally had this mono black player dead to rights. He was like going to die to my combat step and I tried casting Purphoros, God of the Forge before combat to which he hit me with a Withering Boon. I murdered him immediately afterwards but it literally cost me the game that he did that. I found it really annoying since like he was already dead but he was just being vindictive as he died.

My meta is a little unusual in that we play kind of high powered casual. There are almost no combos or fast mana, we intentionally omit lots of format staples, and run very few tutors (no unrestricted tutors). Combat damage kills are the typical endgame. All of that said, fetch/dual manabases are the norm, we (mostly) play plenty of removal and it's not uncommon for someone to go from a relatively non-threatening board state to representing lethal in a turn or two. No one gets left close to death because it invariably comes back to bite you in the ass.

If I'm going out, you can bet that my final actions are going to be doing as much damage as possible to whoever put me in that spot. I figure it's a better option than scooping to deny triggers or something. There's no way I'm just rolling over in that scenario, given the option.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
One of my wife's friends was diagnosed with celiac disease 7 years ago. She just found out that it was a misdiagnosis and it was actually viral. She was retested and definitely does not have celiac. That has got to be one of the most bizarre doctor's visits.

No because she's 10 and there's probably bad language and it will be scary. What kind of father do you think I am?
