I used to play Grip of Chaos in my Márton Stromgald deck. It was hilarious to have mass haste already and drop Márton into play and see if people can spin the random wheel to see if he dies.
My favorite game was to see where the Beast Within goes lol.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
YEEES, thank you. Some people just cast Scrambleverse "for the lolz". Then we have to take away from the time that we should be enjoying so that we can roll 100 dice. I will not play with such a person again, especially since my Karn Liberated disappeared the last time I went along with it.
There's a HUGE difference between not trying to win and intentionally trolling the table. Even when done in good spirits, it can still completely ruin people's play experience.
While true, we don't have any knowledge about his playgroup, so as far as we know, this is cool with them.
Thank you,I had a deck years ago whose only wincon was Barren Glory but it would require a different general, and I'm also tempted to see if i can end the game with Divine Intervention and or celestial convergence
Because I can and not everyone finds making and running a competitive deck to be fun

Zedruu players are allowed to use Scrambleverse as a faster-to-resolve version of Auction. It's a fun way to donate a bunch of permanents and rolling a d4 or d6 to assign each card to a player doesn't take that long.
I occasionally build decks that don't have ways in which to logically win. I remember once building a Zedruu the Greathearted deck that did not really have a way in which to win. People did not like being forever answered until I drew out my deck though so they would concede to me occasionally lol.
I don't tend to keep those type of decks but I find it sort of funny to see how they might prioritize me when I am just drawing cards and answering things.

Not trying to win isn't entirely the same.
I've theorized a deck that doesn't try to win, it just tries to survive as much as it can. To the point where a tiny bit of punisher results in your victory.
My Zedruu deck is a less intense version of that though.
Imagine a pick up basketball game in busy urban area and there's 9 guys trying to play the game and one guy trying to fill the balls with his own farts with an invention he brought from home.
**** that guy.
It goes back to the very nature of gaming - the goal is to win. How you win is up to you and how hard you play is up to you, but the goal is to win.
At least Warp World, when used correctly, can be set up to set the caster significantly ahead of the rest of the board.
Scrambleverse is literally just "roll 100 dice, and quit halfway through because this is terrible".
Thieves' Auction has some amount of control, but it's still a slower and much more annoying process.
Copying either of these things is also basically pointless.

I thought the goal was to have fun...silly me for thinking that
The goal of a game is for a group of people to have fun in a mutually-understood and agreed-upon manner. Playing fast-and-loose with the agreements may interfere with your friends' fun. If chaos isn't a problem for your friends -- in other words if they don't mind the game being directed by factors other than their piloting and deckbuilding -- then go wild. No one's saying otherwise if that's the case. We're just expressing our own opinions on the archetype, which may differ from your group's.
I once saw a Norin deck put like 3 Warp Worlds on the stack with Fork effects. The first one resolved and someone happened to flip in a Polluted Bonds which killed the Norin player who had gotten like a 30 card warp off of it.
Everyone else was extremely happy with him lol.

That's awesome.
I once cast a Warp World in Norin after using multiple Wake of Destructions and Ruination to basically set everyone else to very low permanent counts. I was not very popular that game.

Hyperbole. A Zedruu deck that plays moderately quickly and resolves one Scrambleverse to donate a heap of cards shouldn't rack up that much more playtime across a game than, for example, other archetypes that have consistent, slightly slower turns through tutoring, shuffling and the like. Resolving one only took a moment. Roll, Alan, roll, Tom, roll, Alan, roll, Nico, bam bam bam, done.
Since Grip of Chaos is a valid way to protect your assets, is rolling a d100 and counting permanents clockwise every time a targeted spell resolves not also time-consuming? Neither cases are "chaos for the sake of chaos".
Chaos decks, much like Planeshift, are ok in moderation. After a couple games flipping coins and randomly determining everything it becomes disrespectful to everyone's time.
In my experience the guy who wants to play nothing but chaos is doing so because he realizes he can't compete with the group on the usual axis so he decides to make up his own conditions for victory.

Zedruu can maaaaybe be a valid use-case for Scrambleverse, but even that's pushing it. Odds are 3 in 4 that you end up donating your Zedruu if she's in play, and if she isn't, the odds aren't great that you'll have the mana to cast her afterwards.

Yeah you always cast her after. As for playing her immediately, it depends on how many mana rocks you end up with (they all untap). Since my deck alone had a healthy supply of them it was a moderate chance, although playing her immediately isn't abundantly necessary anyway.
In my experience the guy who wants to play nothing but chaos is doing so because he realizes he can't compete with the group on the usual axis so he decides to make up his own conditions for victory.
This is part of my looking at a chaos deck the other part is...always playing competitive decks are boring IMO. My best plays with warp world ending with me getting omniscience and Leyline of anticipation
EDIT: And if i really wanted to be that guy,i'd run Omen Machine which really takes away your choice in when to play cards...

Chaos and competitive aren't opposing forces though. It's like you are dating someone and things get too serious. So you buy a monster truck and eat Big Macs three meals a day. One is not the solution to the other.

Ever get the guy who infinite loops a Warp World with a Reiterate plus positive mana gen off of each warp??? Thats not fun lol.
Token based decks will often positive number generate in each warp if they are built to do so.
