1) I used the tutoring ability of the Sliver Overlord to take from my library Quick Sliver.
2) I played Quick Sliver and Harmonic Sliver (the second was already in my hand), destroying one of the two auras.
3) I re-used the tutoring ability of the general to find Hibernation Sliver, playing it.
4) I payed 2 life to return into my hand the Harmonic Sliver, and I replayed it to destroy the other aura.
5) I blocked Uril (now a 5/5) with the Sliver Overlord, killing it. ^__^
A sliver deck played like a faerie deck!
Nice, but Sliver decks were outlawed at the shop I play at. I wasn't around for the actual matchup that did them in, but I understand it was a big 8 player game and 3 of them were sliver decks. Apparently, no one wanted to ever see another sliver deck, ever again! heheh.
These are some awesome stories. Keep posting new ones! =D
My friends told me about a 3-player EDH game with Planechase that happened over the weekend:
After a long a drawn out game, the current plane was Glimmervoid Basin (essentially, all instants and sorceries get Radiated). One player played a Memory Plunder, expecting to win on the spot with all the copies and the massive graveyards all around the table. Then another player responded with Wild Ricochet -- the first Wild Ricochet/Memory Plunder copy targeted Beacon of Unrest, grabbing every artifact and creature in every graveyard. All of the other fifty-something copies targeted Corrupt when he controlled about 12 Swamps thanks to Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
Needless to say, he won long before all of the copies resolved.
Pure white deck
Turn 1 and 2: Doesn't matter, just put a Snow-Covered Plains down each time.
Turn 3: Extraplanar Lens my third Snow-Covered Plains.
Turn 4: Play Stonehewer Giant with the 6 mana.
Turn 5: Attack, if they are tapped out, use his ability to pull out Shield of Kaldra, or wait until they tap out trying to kill him.
Turn 6: If they do not block the giant again, pull out Worldslayer.
I had thought for the longest time that Rofellos was banned in EDH.
Why? why is it not banned?
It was recently unbanned.
For me....
Turn 1: Island, suspend lotus bloom, clockspinning on lotus bloom
Turn 2: Island, lotus petal, (Counter opponents Mystical tutor with hinder sending it to the bottom of their deck)
Turn 3: Lotus bloom resolves, Island, Play tunnel Vision naming mystical tutor.
Funny thing is that this was his Oona queen of the fae milling EDH deck LOL.
I was playing my Sharuum The Hegemon EDH (I must say one of the most powerfull and overpowered generals in the right deck) against my friends savra's and Vorosh the hunter EDH, well it was very late into the game sharuum costed me 14 mana to play by now and most of my artifacts were in my gy thanks to savra, and vorosh was by now a 18/18 (not playing by general damage it makes the game shorter) and I was in deep trouble, lucky for me my friends were busy with each other thinking that I was practicly out of the game, the last turn of the Vorosh player I told him to just outright kill me cause if they let me live Im gonna kill them (just bluffing) he doesnt and then on my turn i draw.........
ROAR OF RECLAMATION, I return every artifact into play:
I also had in play Minion Reflector and paid 8 mana to copy Sphinx of the Steel Wind, Magister Sphinx, Inkwell Leviathan and Sundering Titan, and then proceded to bash face kill both of my opponents and win the effing game.
Today i was sitting on a Harm's Way while someone had a phage on table, i was hoping they were going to attack but someone wrath'd before i could kill someone with a Harm's Way off of phage
The Wort player had a ton of tokens of different varieties + Mana Reflection + Keeper of Progenitus and lots of land. He plays Furystoke Giant and tries to figure out who to take out of the game (he can do roughly 50 damage from Shocking with his tokens). He figures I have some shenanigans up my sleeve, so he chooses to bust up the Sharuum player. He passes.
I sit there...thinking of a way I can pull this out since I'm positive he has a way to kill his own Furystoke in hand. I've been waiting for a chance to abuse Radiate the entire game, but never got a chance. Then I notice Heat Shimmer in my hand. Hah! Neat. So, I Heat Shimmer his Furystoke, and Radiate the Heat Shimmer...getting a copy of all of his tokens plus my two (unfortunately) Legendary creatures. Unfortunately he had gained some life earlier in the game which put hmi 5 damage out of Shock range (I could have done 46)....but I wipe his board with copies of his own creatures. It was pretty neat.
Playing my Kresh deck the other day, and had Lord of Extinction in play, but no form of evasion on it. Opponent kept chump blocking it. On his end step, I play Makeshift Manakin and put a Xathrid Demon into play from my graveyard (which I had discarded earlier). During my upkeep, I sac Lord of Extinction to the demon, and deal him 35-40 and kill him.
I got a Time Stretch to stick under Eye of the Storm. I kept drawing instants and sorceries, so I was able to keep Eye of the Storm triggering and got infinite turns going.

Hey, I've got a deck built around that! Eye of the Storm just starts so much crap it's not funny. Well, it is funny.
Two days in a row, we've somehow gotten to a gamestate that involved Memory Plunder on Eye of the Storm....the explosion that ensues is just nuts, since someone gets a TON of copies of just about every spell in every graveyard. The most notable game was just a few minutes ago, however, when my friend was testing out his new Intet, the Dreamer deck:
First, Hive Mind. A round passes with the table drawing some cards, I think. Then, Dream Halls hits play. Then Eye of the Storm. Then Harrow, followed by Time Spiral. Some shenanigans ensued (a round of Time Spirals/Harrows, to begin with), then he played Grip of Chaos. After responding with some random instants and trying to sort it out, we quit the game with six copies of Time Spiral on the stack. I promise I'm not making this up.
Turn 1 draw something irrelevant, play Mana Crypt into Sol Ring and Candelabra, play Academy tap it for 3 to play Staff, use Sol Ring/Candelabra to untap Academy and play Filigree Sages.
Turn 2 I have infinite mana and card draw through staff...
It's usually a similar set of cards that wins the game, but certainly never that early. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I wish it had been in a card shop.
Another scenario: I was playing Wort, the Raidmother online in a mp game and was able to loop Warpworld infinitely if I wanted since I could pretty much flip my whole deck hitting Eternal Witness and Anarchist every time and didn't have to worry about decking myself with Regal force since I had already killed that with my own Bogardan Hellkite.
My group has played some edh-games with planechase since they were released last weekend, and we had a blast every time, try it out! One game we started on The Maelstrom and t2 my friend flipped up Timesifter. Good times
The two Elspeths are a great thesis on women in general. When you first meet one, she costs a decent amount to attract, makes you stronger and gives you the feeling that you're flying. She also goes to great lengths to protect her loved ones from harm. After a while, she gets more expensive to maintain, gives birth like a sow, becomes less loyal after doing so, and tops it all off by wrecking crap around the house. Except hers, of course.
I had out a Skirk Fire Marshal as my only critter and was at six manna. I put Ib into play, drop a Mogg Maniac, sac four mountains for Goblins then I tap the Tokens and the Maniac to do 10 damage to the player at 8, send the maniac damage to the player at 22 then proceed to attack with the Fire Marshal to do the last two damage as it was the only critter left on the board.

Sorry, but due to the fact that EVERY player was dealt 10 damage by your Skirk Fire Marshal's ability, you wouldn't have been able to deal damage to the player who started at 22 with the Maniac nor with the Fire Marshal's attack... reason being that all players who were under 10 life lost the game due to a state-based effect as soon as they hit 0 life. And YOU did hit 0 life if you were at 6 life to begin with... the only exception is if YOU as the player had protection-red somehow. Sorry dude.

I can top that with timespirals. My friend's Jhoira deck is based around storming up and stuff, and runs eye of the storm and time spiral for it. I was playing mono blue, and on his turn he plays eye then time spiral. Everyone else is tapped out, except me and him, and I draw an instant I can cast to counter his time spiral copy from a mystical tutor.
At the end of like ten minutes of back and forth, there are forty+ time spirals on the stack, we've already drawn like six new hands, and the eye has a twincast, dismiss, mystical tutor, thirst for knowledge, another twincast, a counterspell, swerve, time spiral, and a stroke of genius. >.<
@Dosu - You know, I was just talking to friends about the Hive Mind + Eye of the Storm + Grip of Chaos combo. Good to know it causes many headaches.
You're telling me. I don't mind the crazy, outlandish stuff as much as most people do; I think it's fun and interesting. It's nice to hear of someone else trying to figure out how to break the game

You are right, I was at more then 10 life, silly mistake for me to not remember that and I apologise. It happened the better part of a year ago and I was trying to reconstruct.
Once again sorry for not being more carefull in my reconstruction of past events.

Hahahah this is the most epic combo that happened in my store. It was like my 2nd time playing EDH and Chromium Was my general (Yes the expensive Elder Dragon Legend -_- I sucked) anyway... I was severely getting destroyed by this kid playing a Nath deck and he had total creature advantage. I built that deck with primarily Shards and 10th Edition cards so needless to say it was very garbage. So He was at 40 life and I was at like 7 or 8 I had a lot of mana on board but kill spells and big beats wiped out most of my creatures. I only have a Filigree Sages and a Phyrexian Altar so I top deck into a Doubling Cube and get the most smug grin on my face ever cause I never thought of a combo before. SO I casted the cube and tapped all like 18 of my mana... then cubed and doubled it... then untapped it with the sages... then doubled it and so on and so forth until I had I believe somewhere 47,000 mana is where I stopped. (I actually have to count in our store or Riki Hayashi will ridicule me for sucking at magic) so I played my general and sacked him enough times to search for an answer which was like half my deck and Tezzeret for the win to swing for game with a ton of 5/5s and a Scepter/Holy Day to stop him from offing me. That was my first EDH win and Epic LOLZ...
Then I lost every game there after until I switched to Sharuum lol... God the silly stuff that happens in our store. Like "Mexican" Ertai, Wizard Adept getting in there for 21 points of general damage against a Sygg deck that Armageddoned and missed all of his land drops when the Ertai Player didnt. Or me getting turn 2 Braid's on every game for like a month then getting Braids Dazeed by a mono blue deck. Or getting a fetch land Stifiled by some random blue instant that only works on lands... God every day at our store something redicilous happens

With those cards you listed on the field, how were you saccing your general in order to draw a card? Phyrexian Altar doesn't do that.... In otherwords, what is the missing card in this combo?

Was playing chromat once with I think thraxamundar sedris and something else (a giagantic hasty black legend) And I proceeded to play bringer of the black dawn with 9 mana total and top (one of which is acadamy) and 4 cards in hand, the sedris player manages to resolve a tramatize on himself and bash some players (Who play spells to not die) and I take like 20 going to 9/10 I think.
My turn bringers trigger resolves getting me BEACON OF TOMMOROWS, I take my turn shuffle up my beacon and attack for 5, and top go to 6 on my next turn playing out a signant (essentialy for free) and repeating go to 4 than 2 and play out a staff of domination, followed by winning with infinate turns I actualy almost lost to having to pay life to tutor X.X dispite being genuinely infinate turns.
needless to say I got blown out next game because I combo killed the table.
Another (Although not interesting) play is to watch azami Lady of infinate cards combo out. litteraly taking infinate everything with reito lantern + azami + fallow sage + mind over matter.

I was playing online the other day and this was my staring hand on the draw: Tolarian Academy, Island, Mana Crypt, Sol Ring, Candelabra of Tawnos, Filigree Sages, and Staff of Domination.
