I play Tooth and Nail entwined, and conspire it. and i loose the game.
he Remands. the copy and draws a card. then tops. he sees something. and draws a card putting top on the top. He taps the acadamy and plays Teferi, mage of Zalfir. followed by palinchron at instant speed. Untaps his lands infinite mana ensues. he flashes Oona and activates her ability for some arbitrarily large number and my library vanishes.
I laughed so hard i could barely pass the turn.
so what crazy plays have you people seen playing edh?
While I have not seen infinite mana combo come out of no where (yet), I have seen some impressive shenanigans with Fork, Twincast, Reiterate, and Wild Ricochet. Some from myself, some from others. Most of the time, it's just turning someone else's game-winning spell into YOUR game-winning spell, since your copy resolves first.
Heh, that reminds me, I ran a casual deck (not EDH) for a while that won via Mycosinth Lattice, Grave Pact, March of the Machines. I did win several games by beating my opponents to death with Chandra in artifact creature form.
Anyway, when I first built Crosis, I had no idea that my main win condition would end up being infinite turns, I had just thrown Time Stretch (and later, Time Warp) in there for fun. But I've pulled all sorts of interesting, accidental combos out of the deck.
One game, I had done something silly on turn 5 or so involving trying to Drain Power into Time Stretch, but that had gotten countered, so the game went on for a while. 10-some turns later, I find myself with Scrivener on the board and Evacuation in hand. So I use the two every turn, and combat pretty much stops happening. A couple turns later I draw Anarchist, and I use the three of them with the Stretch in the graveyard to go infinite.

I was playing Chorus of the Conclave and my friend was playing Intet, along with two others playing Mangara and Zur. On my turn I cast a Storm Herd, and my friend responds with counterspell, and then responds to his own counterspell with a twincast, then proceeds to kill all three of us by popping Garruk's ultimate and swinging with 56 3/3 pegasus tokens.

I responded to a Warp World with Gather Specimens in a 4 player game. The guy who cast it had 20 permanents more then everyone due to all the tokens he had (but couldn't attack due to Moat), so he thought this was just going to make him win the game. I got 19 creatures, and flipped all 3 Kaldra pieces over out of my deck. Win.
I commandeer a time stretch when he was about to go off with his oblirerate. He had many cards suspended from his general(Johoria)and they all where going to come in the next two turns, after his oblirerate. I was playing Azami, and after i commandeer his Time Stretch, i dropped winter orb and static orb, all these before i already had mind over matter and my general in play. There were two more players besides me, and trust me, that after those two turns that i took they didnt do NOTHING!!!
just got home from playing some edh. i was piloting a niv mizzet deck similar to the ideas in the thread about true red/blue mages. we were playing a variant on edh called sheriff although it might have well just been free for all. a turn three mana flare allowed me a turn 4 grip of chaos. one guy plays a maga and ends up hitting himself for 13 thanks to grip. then i play hive mind and some body plays a brilliant ultimatum that we all got. and someone else hits a bribery. when niv mizzet hit someone else's side grip became ridiculous thanks to my grip plus teferi's puzzle box. it took a planar cleansing to finally make the game manageable. and eventually we outlaws killed the sherrif thanks to an insurrection.
The other day I was playing with my deck on Magic Workstation to test it out. I was playing against Jhoira of the Ghitu and he had a Time Stretch suspended. The turn it resolved I played Wild Ricochet, obviously targeting myself both times, and then proceeded to take 5 turns. He scooped. It was amazing, beyond amazing. I was laughing so hard hahaha.
I had gotten to a really slow start and was sitting at 7 life when I had finally stopped the assault by dropping my Meishin, the Mind Cage. It was holding back his disgusting army dudes featuring the likes of Dread and Ghastlord of Fugue. However, things were looking very bleak for me. He had me under a nasty lock thanks to Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and Kira, Great Glass-Spinner. Limiting a blue player to sorcery-speed spells is pretty nasty, I hear. (Indeed, I was holding Forbid, Pact of Negation, Desertion, and Spelljack. Oh, and he also had a Glen Elendra Archmage out. So his Teferi was well protected. Also of note was that I had a Memnarch in hand, which he knew about thanks to the Ghastlord, but I was unable to play it because of the Sower of Temptation in his hand, which I knew about thanks to a previous Vendilion Clique. The Sower was also preventing me from casting my general, Azami, Lady of Scrolls, since he would be able to benefit from her greatly.
So yeah, pretty complicated game state. Basically, almost nothing I topdeck can help. He can counter most of my answers changes to Archmage, and Teferi/Kira is stopping me from using any of the awesome counters in my hand. I'm hanging by the thread that is Meishin and Graceful Adept, just waiting for him to topdeck one of the dozen ways his deck can win.
My "army" consisted of the non-threatening Voidmage Apprentice, Cursecatcher/, Graceful Adept/, and the somewhat relevant Sigil Tracer and Temporal Adept (The Adept was bouncing his Sensei's Divining Top because of freaking Kira.). The Adept also gave me hope of dealing with the Sower in his hand.
Luckily for me, my brother sucks. So I know I can win this game... somehow.
So for me, the first step is to make him get rid of Glen Elendra Archmage so I can take a shot at Teferi and Kira. I finally goaded him into sacrificing the Archmage by offering to resolve a Gauntlet of Power. Okay, she's out of the way. Now I target Teferi with the Temporal Adept to use the Kira trigger, and use my Spin Into Myth! But he has Undermine. Aargh!
But okay, now I get to resolve Future Sight. The very next turn, Future Sight flips the top card of my deck and I see a wonderful answer to Teferi: my very own Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir. I play it. He has Hinder. Grrr. My deck is running out of ways to get through this stupid lock. And he has about a dozen cards he could topdeck at any moment to break through the Meishin, the Mind Cage.
Future Sight helps me dig to a couple very relevant cards: Ertai, Wizard Adept and Riptide Laboratory (which has sights set on my Voidmage Apprentice). These cards give me hope of having some countermagic protection, as Teferi won't be able to stop them. All I need to do is survive one more of my brother's topdecks and I should be okay. He draws into Demonic Tutor, drops it on the board and says "I win." I make the motion to scoop, but instead decide to test him. "Tutor resolves." I want to see if he does this right. Yeah, he has a bunch of cards that can win this game, but a lot of the choices he was citing (like Hatred, for example) weren't viable (Hatred, of course, gets countered by Kira, Great Glass-Spinner) so I want to see if he screws this up.
Sure enough, he makes the worst choice possible: Cryptic Command. As I suspected, he's forgotten about my Sigil Tracer and his piddly army of Wizard friends. His modes are to bounce the Mind Cage and tap all my creatures. I make three copies with the Sigil Tracer and tap his creatures and return Teferi to his hand. He recasts Teferi and wins the counter war despite my Pact of Negation. But the damage is done. He's lost his chance, and he's tapped himself out in the process. Ertai now loses summoning sickness and I'm no longer at the whim of his topdecks.
Future Sight reveals Take Possession and Teferi is mine. I finally see that sower in a vein attempt to regain Teferi, but you know I have the countermagic. Azami and Memnarch hit the table, and he game is quickly over.
If he had tutored for anything besides Cryptic, like his card [Clutch of the Undercity[/card] or even Masticore to clear out my Wizards, he would have iced it. What a maroon.

Bribery or Acquire is a more effective way of doing that.
Kraj taps the next turn, adding a +1/+1 counter to Morphling. I use Morphling's ability to untap Kraj (now that he has a counter on 'ling), and add a counter to each of the other creatures. This generates infinite mana, and infinite untaps.
I use my infinite mana to counter the attempts to stop my combo via counterspells. I cast Memnarch from my hand, and proceed to steal every permanent from all of my opponents. Then, I make all the creatures 9001/9001, and kill the first player.
I pass the turn. The other players untap, and play their land for the turn.
My best play so far in EDH was just casting Rofellos into turn-3 lurking predators in 6-way. I have also killed in a duel turn three thanks to umbral mantle, but that's not nearly as fun.
11/9 trampling, shrouded beatdown creatures are pretty hard to deal with last time I checked, especially with Gaddock Teeg blocking most global sweeper cards .

Going infinite in EDH is neither difficult nor crazy. In fact, it's a big time jerk move(especially with time stretch).
My favorite edh play was in a duel (Me w/ Intet vs Bladewing the Risen). Its late in the game, and we both have a bunch of mana. My Board position is better after i somehow destroyed all of his dragons. He plans on floating mana for living death then obliterating and killing me with dragons. I float mana (a lot thanks to mana reflection) with obliterate on the stack I flash in Teferi then the blue myojin. I draw 26 cards (one of which is a Reliquary Tower) I have just enough mana to counter the living death, and I am left with a darksteel ingot, mana reflection and 26 cards in hand , vesus his 0 permanents and 1 card. My turn comes I drop reliquary tower and proceed to win the game.
A card like Invulnerability is not really a big deal to me considering I can just tutor up something else such as another legend to pump through CotC or something like Mindslaver.
I do see what you're talking about though. Yes, there are going to be ways somehow to deal with that huge KotNT. There are too many cards in Magic that will have their use somewhere in some situation.
So i tunnel vision my friend who is playing a progenitus deck for "reya dawnbringer" as were cycling through his deck i'm startying to get really excited and thinking "am i going to deck you" and "if its in your hand i'm going to slap you" so its the second last card hes probably going to lose in two turns, the next card he picked up reminise, i was one mana short for a rewind, then he proceeded to take control of the game and beat my face with a progenitus

I had Keeper of Progenitus Mana Flare and Mana reflection out alongside wort and he had urborg, cabal coffers mycosynth lattice and Tolarian Acadamy. so mana is not an issue.

so what crazy plays have you people seen playing edh?
Wort/ Jor Kadeen/ Rasputin/BWG Karador/ Rakdos/ Edric/ Dralnu/ BBMikaeus
Mirror of Fate collection counter 98
But perhaps the most impressive thing was when a guy in our group finally assembled the "infinite planeswalker engine" in his Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind EDH and burned everyone out with Chandra Nalaar instantly. (Mycosynth Lattice, Quicksilver Elemental, March of the Machines, and a planeswalker of your choice).

My opponent was beating me up with Paleoloth, so I cast Godo, Bandit Warlord and search for Tenza, Godo's Maul, and attach it, trying to make a sizeable blocker.
He casts Jugan, the Rising Star and things look bleak for me.
Then I topdeck it. Flowstone Slide for 5, swing twice with an 11/1 Godo and win right there.
I was playing my Gaddock Teeg deck against my friend piloting my Zur deck. I managed to get Sacred Mesa, Fertile Ground, Earthcraft, and Martyr's Cause in play for infinite tokens and damage prevention. Unfortunately, he had Energy Field and Forbidden Crypt in play, so he had infinite damage prevention as well. We just kind of sat there and topdecked for a few turns until he got Enlightened Tutor and assembled an Enchanted Evening/Aura Fracture/Aura Thief combo ftw. I drew Skullclamp one turn too late ='(
I've seen another friend playing Wort, the Raidmother entwine a Reap and Sow and proceed to Radiate it. Yeah, he won that game. Also, lots of shenanigans with Early Harvest and Reiterate.
Oh yeah, and watch out for getting Phthisis played on your Lord of Extinction. I hear that sucks big time.
