Not really a deck box or sleeve question, but I thought I'd showoff share my color-coordinated combo for my Karn, Silver Golem deck.
The deck box is a standard black 100 card Ultra-Pro deck box that's been painted to match the end cap for my playmat tube, and look like worn metal. The sleeves are silver KMC sleeves (my favorite brand, they're practically indestructible, IMO). The silver dice are Chessex. Silver everything!
That... is TOTALLY BOSS.
You can even go a bit further with metal dice and a chainmail dice bag. D:

You sir, have just posted the biggest amount of win, I've ever seen. I tip my hat to you and I am totally jealous.
The problem I encountered with the KMC sleeves is they sometimes fit very awkwardly and sleeving can be a big chore. The Ultra Pro sleeves fit a lot better, in my experience.
Now I deal with the problem of having all my decks balloon by about a third in thickness, which is too much for most conventional deckboxes. :|
I'm wondering... Which one would be better, KMC sleeves (black ones) or the dragon shield ones.
And I'm searching for some with a cool art to match Jarad (but have no idea where to search.. Could anybody help me? ).
Are sleeves with art as durable as the ones without?
If anybody is searching for cool sleeves for their Geist of Saint Thraft deck, you have some limited 'Game of thrones' sleeves, which are pretty nice (picture of John Snow, with his dire wolf, in a snowy background. Geist always remind me of Eddard actually ).
Nothing really shocking, but I broke down and bought a set of Dragon Sleeves (the 100 pack) and holy crap they're awesome. They shuffle great, with the right amount of slickness but not so slick that your deck slides apart, and how cool is it that they give you a few extras too? I hated it when I'd get two packs of 50 count sleeves only to rip one and have to look around for an extra.
also, I know this has been mentioned, but the Deck Builders Toolbox box is perfect for three sleeved decks and around 20 sleeved tokens. Really durable too.

Sleeves with art tend to be considerably less durable than ones without.

Ultra pro's shuffle better in my opinion.
Are they cut equally? (sometimes I bought sleeves were one was a little bigger than the other).

I have a bunch of Ultrapro (the good Magic licensed ones for $8/80) that are years old and quite worn out. One set still shuffles beautifully, the other set is sticky and hard to shuffle. And no, it's not sticky from food or anything else (pervs), it's just a property of the cards.
As far as the cut goes, I can't say for certainty off the top of my head that they're cut EXACTLY the same, but they're close enough that it hasn't caught my attention.

I just love those mat sleeves.. Although some of them ripped quite easily/early on the sides.
Dragonshields get stickier in my opinion (not food or other stuff, I think it's just sweat) and slide more easily (in the begining, later they become sticky), but I'm wondering, what other brand offers those mat sleeves?
I can swear by KMCs. I've got my entire EDH Cube and auxiliary stuff sleeved up in KMC Supers, and they're miles better than the Ultrapro schlock. I've never torn a single one.

Looking for anything specific? Cool design, stuff you like?
Actually, I’ve had my eye on the UltraPro 5-Color Mana Symbol sleeves (I almost never pilot mono color decks, so it seems wrong to have an entire multicolor deck represented by a single mana symbol—and yes, I understand this is pretty neurotic), but AFAIK they’re only sold in sets of 80—which is problematic for me as a Commander player.
Apart from those, I can’t bring myself to like the sleeves with the awkward high fantasy art (read: BADLY DRAWN DRAGONS AND/OR ANGELS). I also don’t like the ones with the tribal patterns, fancy ‘frames’, or the ones with anime characters.
I’d go for simpler designs. In tune with the upcoming RTR set, I’d like a sleeves that are halved vertically, horizontally, or diagonally (a half for each color), with only a solid guild symbol in the middle (none of the shading they’ve done). No gradients.
Has anyone used Player's Choice sleeves?
I bought some recently since I liked the design on the back
I've preferred KMC and Ultra Pro before but was wondering how PC would compare?

You know, I'd love to see Ultrapro make their fancy sleeves in 50/100 packs to cater to the Commander folk.
I buy sleeves of 80 from KMC. 3 packs means 2 full EDH decks with 20 spare sleeves each in case of a rip.
Yeah, I've been doing this lately too. I used to be Ultra Pro Matte only for years, but their new sizes don't fit KMCs, and that means they lose my business. Now it's just Dragon Shields and KMCs.

Speaking of spares for rips, has anyone experienced having spares, then when one of the actively used sleeves rips, you find out that the spares are "too new" and it bothers you that they stand out from the other more roughed up sleeves?

Yes, it drives me nuts, lol... but they do even out eventually.

It's fixed. Go see it!
I went and started a Commander/EDH blog! Come see it at http://wordofcommander.blogspot.com/ and it includes all 15 of my custom super-art generals!
If you're more into the finance section of the game, I write on Fridays for MTGPrice.com.

There were far too many stickies, so there was a list that aggregated all the stickied threads and stickied in their stead.

How come? Is it because of something in the proces, or do they use different materials or something?
Thanks for the quick reply btw ^^.
What is the reason you say this? Do they rip easily at the sides, do they slide alot, .. Or is their a different reason?
I'm curious xD.

I can get a friend who plays 60-card Magic to take the excess, sure. But idk those sleeves kinda feel they were made to house a Commander deck!
