So a few nights ago I was playing EDH with my magic group. My friend ran a mono-blue artifact deck and unfortunately for him, three other decks at that table packed Hellkite Tyrants. Needless to say, it was not a good night for him.
I myself have a (non-combo) Arcum mono-blue artifact deck and I was wondering what would be the most effective way for a mono-blue, artifact based deck to combat this hellkite heavy meta?
Commandeer one. Alternatively, hold on to an extra exile target spell effect like Dissipate and a way to recur it. Or just kill them before they can hit you with it.

Through me the way to the suffering city; Through me the everlasting pain; Through me the way that runs among the Lost. Justice urged on my exalted Creator: Divine Power made me, The Supreme Wisdom and the Primal Love. Nothing was made before me but eternal things And I endure eternally. Good luck targeting a Hellkite Tyrant with Commandeer.
Yeah I know just a general idea of things to help combat it. Chances are there's some form of ramp if it's coming out before Arcum can combo out and win.

I notice a distinct lack of Vedalken Shackles suggested so far. To be fair, that's likely something you should be running anyway (if you have/can afford one) in an artifact-based mono-blue deck.
It's toward the top of my list of fears while playing Stax, but so far a complement of Capsize, Cyclonic Rift, and Aether Spellbomb in Blue have been enough. By going Black, I add Executioner's Capsule to my Salvaging Station package, and the option there is to add Slaughter, and even Guardian Beast if I'm hardcore metagaming. But Mono-Blue is just going to have problems with certain added-value creatures. Wouldn't be fair if one Mono-Color were so resilient. It's already pretty versatile with Counters and Bounce to start adding efficient solutions to resolved perms.

I saw "can afford one" and went WHAAAAAAT...
Then I checked the price and went OH. Bloody hell a lot of fairly cheap staples have gone up while I wasn't looking o.o
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I might pick up an ensnaring bridge since it seems like a more long-term solution when facing multiple tyrants.
Flagship Predator seriously needs more play in edh, it kills things and can allow your non flying friends fly over and kill people...what's not to like?
Because it's really mana heavy. It takes 5 to put it in play and 7 to kill most creatures with it. By the time you get any value out of it, you're 12 mana further. For that kind of investment, you might as well be playing Eldrazi and just annihilate the enemy into oblivion. And if it's the flying you care about, you can get Akroma's Memorial for the same total investment.

Try Desertion or Spelljack instead.

Oh, and OP. If they keep taking your artifacts...
Bronze Bombshell + Argivian Archaeologist. Problem solved.
