I don't consider that very efficient in EDH. Especially not by the time you can cast Ranger of Eos or forecast Proc; there are just so many better options in the relevant colors (like Serra Ascendant).
I've updated the list for Theros. While a few of them are situational (Hopeful Eidolon is not that helpful except as a small buff, and Mistcutter Hydra doesn't play well with Orzhov Charm/Proc), there are some fun new toys. Akroan Crusader and Tormented Hero stand out.
Hmm, no mention of citanul flute. Many of these creatures would still be playable for seven mana, so spending that much for a dragonmaster outcast or a serra ascendant AND a repeatable tutor engine is pretty good.

Realistically speaking, if you are spending 7 mana on a 1 drop you are using Proclamation's Forecast effect a majority of the time (or you have very poor Debtor's Knell targets). And most of the creatures on the list are not worth 7 mana. Serra Ascendant and Dragonmaster Outcast are pretty much it.
I didn't mention it because it just felt unnecessary. Odds are, if you have the Flute out, you have the mana to just tutor up a finisher. Why look for a Proc Drop?
Well I generally only look for a proc drop the turn I cast the flute, since nine mana for a two-drop is a bit much and I usually don't have two-drops that are worth that much. If I lose the flute before I untap, I'll at least be untapping with another strong threat. If I keep the flute, then there's nothing stopping me from getting more meaningful threats in the ensuing turns.
When you look at it from the perspective of an opponent, it seems like a pretty good play: Opponent plays two high-priority threats with one card and seven mana. Leaving the creature alone can cause a variety of problems (especially if you tutor up, say, mother of runes), while leaving the flute alone ensures your opponent has a re-usable toolbox available.
Unfortunately every try hard from Sacramento to Shanghai preaches from the top of their 27 lands + Mana Reflection that Tooth and Nail and Time Stretch are fine to play in the same turn but Armageddon is unfair.
Noble Heirarch, Avacyn's Pilgrim, Elves of Deepshadow, and Bloodhall Ooze are all multicolor creatures. None of them can be played in a monocolor deck except for the ooze, but even it is useless in a monocolor deck.

If you're playing Proc/Ranger, and running any of those cards, it's safe to assume you're playing multicolor. I didn't bother sorting them based on color identity for that reason.
I just wanted to mention that my experience with a Ranger package has led me to repeatedly search up Carrion Feeder + Gravecrawler. Since the 'Feeder is a zombie too, you can effectively make him as large as the amount of B you have available every turn by repeatedly sac'ing the Gravecrawler.
