So recently I've been a rut of what to build next. I have an actual deck and I flop through many other decks never seeming to be happy. I have a very Controlish Damia deck and I want something different in comparison. So I would like to build a tribal deck. And I thought GOBLINS!
Now all this has caused some discussion with a friend of mine who is the best Goblin to use a general. And with that brings to the point. Which Wort is a better General? Or is it something of Mono Red?
If you just want to go on a goblin rampage, Krenko is best. Kiki-Jiki has great combo potential, and the two Worts have their own purposes. I'm not a personal fan of Ib, but others do like him.
Squee isn't very good as a general, but he can be great in the 99.
since you can play all of them other than raid mother in boggart auntie and recur them pretty easy id deff play her for the best, but ive played krenko and hes definitely more explosive
5 Color Cromat with tons of tutoring that doesn't reveal the card. Play a few classic playing cards, a couple Uno Draw 4s (Ancestral Recall eat your heart out), some basic Pokemon for defense, a Get Out of Jail Free card, and have assembling all five pieces of Exodia be your win condition. People will flip because EXODIA!? IMPOSSIBLE! NOBODY'S EVER BEEN ABLE TO SUMMON HIM!
My runners up, for personal reasons, are Ib and Krenko. Nothing like the look on your opponents face when you float your mana, sac your lands to crank out a ton of goblin tokens, sac them to the Clickslither and then cast something Fatal Frenzy on it.
Someone else mentioned Zozu, and I've been thinking that he seems interesting lately. Ankh of mishra, zozu (maybe with lifelink eq...maybe not), sulfuric vortex, the one that deals 2 whenever a spell is cast, punisher style. Sounds interesting (we don't have any decks like that). Not really tribal though...
I had a kiki deck, but it was purely a kiki deck, based on untap effects/sundial of the infinite, and value creatures. Didn't really have a goblin tribal aspect to that either. He'd be a good way to get value out of your guys, which you may want because in red aggro in multiplayer...yeah... Black Wort also gives you pretty good card value.
As for which tribal is best... I would go with the classics- elves and goblins. I haven't played against goblin tribal, but the pieces are there for something at least. I recently tossed an ezuri deck together though, and even from the scraps lying around (archdruid, but no titania/wirewood channeler, plus missing a few other big pieces) it was pretty good. And way fast, considering our group. Both tribes bumrush you, but I personally feel like elves have better end game. Wort can give you some hope post wrath, but with elves, ezuri can regen important pieces (vs certain wraths), and green has better draw/recursion in general. And then you have gen wave and other elfball big spells.
From which tribe to which general, I think most of the choices here play differently from each other. What do you like about each candidate?
Wort, Boggart - Great for combo-goblin esque builds with marvelous late game in the form of recursion. It also works well as a more grindy goblin tribal general with better selection abilities.
Wort, Raid - Not so much goblin tribal as much as green ramp. Suffers the same problems other ramp decks do, but this wort can work fantastically at quickly pumping tokens out through greens'd doubling effects. But not as quickly as...
Krenko - Pure speed. If you don't have removal for krenko you're going to lose within two or three turns. Easily the quickest, but also the least versatile.
Kiki - Kiki functions well at numerous stages, most notably as a combo general. You can, however, play a fantastic control game with kiki's copying abilities.
Of the options, I'd say Krenko is the "best" goblin general in terms of pure power and speed, but overall Kiki-Jiki is stabler and can react to a wider variety of board states, so my vote goes there.

Tantarus: It didn't make the gaka greifer level, so it should be fine
If you want the best general at goblin tribal it's probably Ib, followed closely by Krenko. I don't recommend these, as they tend to make your deck very boring. I've seen a few of these and they just play goblins until they either overwhelm the board by t6 or run out of steam on t7. Sometimes both.
If you want the best general which can lead a goblin tribal deck, it's probably Wort, Boggart Auntie, followed by the Raidmother. The auntie has already been vouched for. Recurring your goblins is invaluable for not running out of steam, plus better removal options. The raidmother excels at leading a tokens/ramp/land destruction deck, but is still useful for gems such as a twinned Mogg infestation, expect to deviate slightly from your theme.
If you want the best general which is also a goblin, then it's Squee. Because he is awesome, and no one will see it coming. Squee is the hipster Norin.
Having tried them all I had to vote Krenko. He's the best in terms of options. You can have combo plans as well as just spamming goblins, You also have some nice contingency plans like Warp World
I voted for Krenko, but I will admit that B/R Wort offers more utility and card draw, among other things. If you have a Dralnu's Crusade laying around I'd say that's a good enough reason to run her instead lol.
I never considered R/G Wort for goblin tribal, the only decks I see with her as the general are usually token-based combo decks. If you decide to run her though, Food Chain gets pretty ridiculous with Goblin Recruiter/Goblin Ringleader, even moreso with a Soul of the Harvest out.
Overall I would say that even if you pick one goblin over the other, it's still a good idea to run the others in your 99 anyway if possible, they're all pretty good.

The previous Goblin Queen, the ability to recur goblins (who have a great utility package) makes this commander a rarity in red with built in Card Advantage. Was the previous favored Goblin General by far, and give plenty of reach through the late game.
Goblins are just a side-show here. Wort is all about spells. Goblins are creatures. Wort was the predecessor to Riku. Still has explosive spell potential, but not much in the way of Goblin Tribal.
The New King. A few activations lead to quickly winning. He now plays a similar role to Edric, Spymaster of Trest. If your meta is low on spot removal, he'll steak the game in only a few short turns. He has a bit more reach, but mainly banks on explosive power. By far the current "strongest" tribal lord.
Used for the long game advantage with skullclamp and the like. Usually builds a mono-red control shell. You can use his card advantage to fuel a Goblin Shell though.
I love my Wort, Boggart Auntie deck because it's capable of dealing solid damage early on, it can hang around and mid-range it up, and with the because of how a few cards play together (things like Krenko and Door of Destinies) the deck can just blow up at any moment.
Krenko - Pure speed. If you don't have removal for krenko you're going to lose within two or three turns. Easily the quickest, but also the least versatile..
Yeah, this sounds about right. You have on shot to stop me turn 4/5, or die, but... if you do stop me, I probably just lost, lol.
I'm actually really surprised by the poll results. I love Krenko, but didn't realize so many others did too.
