The best thing of all, is you can just kinda sit there, playing land drops, maybe playing a ramp spell or two. If you're behind on lands, it helps too, since no one really wants to target the guy who can't really defend himself yet. Then, you slam down a T&N grabbing a combo, and killing the table.
Maybe not the most fun thing to do, but it does win from nowhere.
I'm going with Reverse the Sands. When my Teneb deck was janky it would pull wins out of nowhere. People would put me down to <5 then forget about me, and I would rip wins by playing that and dropping Akroma.
I have an Adun Oakenshield deck where there are six noncreature spells: Fires of Yavimaya, Lurking Predators, Hibernation's End, Genesis Wave, and Primal Surge. It was five, and then Primal Surge came out.
I've thought about taking out the Wave and the Zenith to make the Surge a Game Over card...but I like a touch of randomness and I've got ways to get the card back if I want to cast it again.

eye for an eye does the trick quite well for me. Not many know of it by me, or they suppress their memories of it. Either way it definitely works wonders
Look into Delerium instead of backlash. Since it also adds a prevention, you can use it after attackers are declared, and see where things are going before you react.
Mirror Strikedoes do a General kill on a 21+ damage commander, since it is a redirection, thus they do combat damage to themselves. Since it lasts for the rest of the turn, it also saves you from extra combat steps, and double strike.
Likewise, Reflect Damage is quite fun. While it's a one shot deal, so will only reflect 1 shot off a double-striking dude, it's aso non-targeted and can save you from shroud/hexproof sources. Also works on spells that damage.
If you have Life from the Loam in hand or in your GY or Crucible of Worlds out, it's likely you can quickly take over the game with Possessed Portal. It's about a shaky as a T&N combo as disruption can stop it. But I see StP stoping some of the combos already listed. An uncountered big Exsangunate is pretty resilient, but I don't like exsangunate as it doesn't effect board state.

The other ridiculous thing about Reflect Damage is that if a source would deal damage to multiple things at one time, it can reflect ALL of that damage to the source's controller. Someone drops an Earthquake? They're probably in trouble. Blasphemous Act? Ouch!

My Kaalia deck has two cards in it that are 'just in case' cards: Backlash and Batwing Brume.
Backlash is in there for when someone has a Blightsteel colossus, or some ridiculously big Kresh, or a general that can crack for 21 (yay!)
Brume deals well with the creature swarms I occasionally face.
What other cards can take an awkward board state and turn it into a major win?
There's Netherborn Phalanx, Reflect Damage, False Cure, Insurrection, and what else?

No matter the colors, you can tutor something painful. GRx tutors Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker with Zealous Conscripts (or ExarchMite). GUx also combos producing infinite mana (and stealing via Memnarch). GBx can always tutor up Mike&Trike. GWx into Reveillark and Mirror Entity. And mono-green probably has a few combos I'm unfamiliar with, and if nothing else can go Craterhoof Behemoth and Avenger of Zendikar.

Omnath, Momir Vig, and Rafiq are pretty good for it.
Just run a lot of mana rocks/dorks and Wood Elves, Farhaven Elf, Yavimaya Dryad, Yavimaya Granger, etc. instead of ramp.

Backlash doesn't kill via general damage since that must be dealt as combat damage.
I have a few that aren't quite instant reversals, but they tend to come out of nowhere (read: someone's hand) for wins:
Sun Quan, Lord of Wu can be a great surprise when people think they've got blockers lined up.
Vulshok Battlemaster can turn all those pretty toys on the board into someone's death knell.
Tainted Strike has already been mentioned, but its cousin Triumph of the Hordes can be a big surprise as well.
And you're right about backlash, I've only used it on blightsteel and huge creatures. Got carried away there.

Unspeakable Symbol can be used sort of like Hatred.
Boros Fury-Shield can blow them out if they attack you with a Lord of Extinction or something.
Mirror Entity can make for some mean alpha strikes.
Wild Ricochet can be nutty if you hit something like a Time Stretch.
Storm Herd can do it, especially with something out that grants mass pump and haste.
Reverse the Sands works, but it's risky to set up properly.
Victimize, Living Death, Living End, Twilight's Call, and Sedris, the Traitor King can allow you to combo out on the spot.
Vicious Shadows can easily spell the end of the game.
Massacre Wurm if they have lots of small creatures.
Mono Red's Strengths and Mono White's Strengths
Tainted strike is my most loved card in the game. No seriously... When you're playing Skithiryx, its the most versatile card in existence!
