You don't build the same deck, obviously. Xiahou Dun is better at playing the long game. He is a clock as a backup wincon, but he's a utility general first and foremost.
In Skittles, if you can keep killing or countering the general, you win. Period. In Xiahou, the general is not critical to the deck, he is just useful when he happens to resolve alongside your other strong cards.
My deck link is in my sig I play skittles as control, I rarely attempt to cast him 1st or second turn, usually longer controlling games, I don't cast skittles until I know he will stick, wiping the board and destroying my opponents hand a lot, then go before they can recover, so maybe I just play him differently and that's why?
Agreed. If you get the turn one play, then yes, I would totally agree. But often times he doesn't hit the table until turn three - in which case I Hinder/Spell Crumple him. Or even take the first turn and the Damnation/Wrath the next. He's so easily disrupted. You play him fast, or you lose. In which case Chainer or even Balthor are better. I've seen some sick Balthor the Defiled decks.
This is bothering me enough that I must address it:
Blue is not the only color with disruption!
What do you think Black is doing turn one, two or even three? We're not laying down and letting ourselves get rolled by counterspells and bounce effects. We have the second best (and arguably the best) disruption in the game: discard. I would love to see you play your turn three Hinder after it's been Thoughtseized on turn one.
I'm not saying black is in anyway better than blue. But give the color a little more credit!
EDIT: Skittles is my choice, but Iname comes a close second.

All I'm saying is that a Skits build focuses on getting Skits out as fast as possible, with as much protection as it can. Skits turn one discard is rare. I'm not saying it's impossible, but typically you want to turn one Dark Rit into Darksteel Ingot or something. Skits doesn't play much disruption, it plays accel/protection.
That's why I don't think Skits should get the vote. I play a Chainer deck. But it's not like I voted for him to be the best.
In an eight player game, is anything good? Don't you just sit there countering combos until someone genesis waves for 42 after all the blue players tap out fighting over a bribery?
The One Eyed is just such a beating. It combos with cards for quick combo kills more than any other black General, and on top of that it's unblockable if you need to swing for 21. Or if it's attrition you're after, just keep grabbing Sinkhole or discard and lock your opponent away.
Playing against a Stax-style deck with Mister Dun is just so unforgiving.

I mean no offense, but wouldn't that be a waste of a Dark Ritual?
I could see a T1 Dark Ritual into Unspeakable Symbol. Then mana ramp/discard until the player has mana enough to enable haste. Or save the Dark Ritual for a turn three Skittles. Or some variation thereof.
Unmask is used pretty frequently as well, since it enables a mana-less discard tool.
I understand your point, it is valid and I respect it. We just have different opinions on how Skittles should be run.

Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.
I've played against a douchebag Godo deck before... let me just say that it is the stupidest general I have ever played against. He managed to get turn 3 Godo every game, search for lightning greaves, swing for 20, next turn kill me. The deck was basically "Do you have a hinder in hand? No? Ok, you lose."
So yeah, my vote is for Godo. Nothing else even comes close really.
I believe that I have enough social competence to slip into a party or two, potentially wooing some attractive females that would not mind spending the evening performing the booty dance on me.
Casting my vote for Kiki-Jiki he has an appetite that only lands can satisfy.
