My LGS isn't hand picked, its random. And why I won't bother with the event because that is lame. They are doing it so the people who pre-ordered won't completely lose their product because everyone picking the same one.

I never understood why people decided to do this. The idea of Commander makes people attached to ideas. If you tell them they have a 1/5 shot at getting to do what they want, 2/5 to do something they don't mind and 2/5 to do something they have no interest in, a lot of people will just say no thanks. Especially when they might end up dropping $30 on a product they don't even want

I'm going for Mirror Mastery myself.

I could of saved more then just 10 bucks by buying online, but my LGS is amazing. Has an insanely awesome staff, FNM is organized and fun, they sell beer, and they have tons of ☺☺☺☺ going on all week for both magic and whatever else you want to play. I have no problem spening more for a single or a product there then some random internet site. Sure in the long run I'm spending more but local support is more important then me saving 5 bucks on survival of the fittest. Plus, instant gratification>waiting for the mail man.

Mirror Mastery, it's a ton of fun to play. Might get Devour for the staples / to have an other deck.

LGS had a deal where you got 10% off if you bought all 5, so that's what I ended up getting. Not sure what I plan to play at the release.

I'll be picking up the RUG for the generals. Riku is just too awesome for me. However, I also want Nin, the Pain Artist, I might just buy one from someone who'll buy the WUR deck. I don't get it, though. Will someone explain why the UBG (and the GWB?) are worth the most value? I am planning to buy the decks just for the generals and several staples, and sell the rest.

I too pre-ordered all 5. I'm very excited for all the new commander cards in these decks!

Because, unlike the other decks, the UBG deck has a Nezumi Graverobber, Fleshbag Marauder, Eternal Witness, Solemn Simulacrum, Mulldrifter, Acidic Slime, Wrexial, the Risen Deep, Butcher of Malakir, Avatar of Woe, Artisan of Kozilek, Oblivion Stone, Fact or Fiction, Grave Pact, Sign in Blood, Cultivate, Buried Alive, Living Death, Windfall, Syphon Mind, and Temple of the False Gods

I'll process some minor statistics on this poll on Friday when the sets are finally out.

Interesting that the average MTGS voter is getting at least 2 decks.

Heavenly Inferno at launch. Possibly Mirror Mastery later on down the road.

The first one I'll be buying is Devour for Power (GUB). It just has so many format staples that it seems like the obvious choice. Ghave looks like a ton of fun, so I might try out the BGW deck and see how it goes.

Honestly, I'll probably just end up buying every one except for Heavenly Inferno. Its just too aggressive for my taste.

I'm eventually getting all but inferno. Or I may just buy ghave/karador as singletons... don't much care for the deck TBH.
First, I preordered mirror/devour. If I can find Political for MSRP at launch I'll snag it too.

I preordered all five online. Although, I'll probably one copy of Devour for Power for the release event this weekend since Mimeoplasm has a dinosaur arm and that is awesome.

All 5 by technicality, as half of my friend's preorder of Heavenly Inferno was trading in my used games and the fact that with us living together we're just sharing a single collection. Was originally only going to have enough cash for two, and was having trouble deciding on a second (Devour was my first choice. How can you not want an ooze monster with a T-rex for an arm?) but managed the extra $60.

All of them, had the money sitting in my room for two months and once I heard sol ring was in I was sold.

Two decks will be on the way for me.
Mirror Mastery and Devour for Power

Being relatively new to MTG in general, these packs are giving me a tonne of classics that I would never of normally purchased, had I needed to buy them individually.

I bought Mirror Mastery for my GF, mainly because of Riku and Animar.

I think Devour for Power is obviously the most powerful of the decks right out of the box. That being said, as a a long time EDH player I already have most of the "staples" that I can see a lot of new EDH players gravitating towards. So for me it is more about accruing new cards and I think that Mirror Mastery and Political Puppets fulfill most of my needs in this respect.

I could be wrong, but I think that a lot of people may be underestimating Political Puppets. It has two of the best spot removal cards in the format in Oblation and the new Chaos Warp and a rather strong defense package with numerous (good) Walls, Propaganda, and life gain effects. I think it is a misnomer to call it "group hug" just because of Zedruu the Greathearted, Howling Mine, and a couple other minor spells like Vision Skeins that can be interpreted as "hug" cards. I think it does a good job of living up to it's name, however, as it is clearly the most politically oriented of all of the decks.

Political Puppets has Insurrection, possibly the best non-general finisher in the entire set. It is being way-underrated in spite of this.

Looks like I'll be picking up just the Heavenly Inferno and trading for the other stuff I need. I figured out that it had like 15 cards I would use often enough to justify it, and the others only really had 1-4 cards.

A small local shop I was playing at last night stocked their Commander stuff for today and they had plenty of stock. Considering this place was small and relatively unknown... I'm sure the larger shops will be just fine as well. I'm not worried!

I bought all of them this morning and got them at the box price rather than the retail... so nice considering that some places are already listing them above retail. (I payed 105 for all... so wonderful)

I grabbed Political Puppets on my lunch break.

Haven't had much chance to do anything with it, under than read the inserts.

But overall, I am impressed!
