i built a version of reaper king dedicated to as many artifact combos as i could find, posted in http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=222544 but didnt get any responses. basically it just pulls off shenanigans with token generation and going infinite in many different ways.
Certainly do-able, but not for those on a low budget. Building five colour decks to good effect usually requires at the very least the Rav-shock cycle and probably the unlimited true-dual cycle as well.
I disagree with this. It's perfectly viable to build a 5-color deck with neither the rav duals nor the original duals. My Horde of Notions deck runs a mana base of something like:
5 Shards trilands, 5 vivid lands, 10 basic lands (2 of each), 5 Shards panoramas, 5 cycling lands, Reflecting Pool, City of Brass, Grand Coliseum, Murmoring Bosk, Terramorphic Expanse, Thawing Glaciers, Rupture Spire, and a few utility lands and does fine. I usually hit domain by turns 5-8, and I rarely have trouble casting spells.
It's a pretty fun deck, and getting the right mana is part of the challenge of playing it. It's obviously not the most powerful deck, but certainly able to compete with most decks in my meta.
