I should also mention that this deck evolved many times, starting off as a very, very janky "Control" deck (literally, any control magic variant I could find I used) into a surprisingly effective and deadly Control deck.
The whole point of this deck is that I don't have a win condition (in duels I can Mindslaver lock, but I don't intend to do that). Any win condition I get, I steal from everyone else.
There are some more Mindtaking cards that I simply don't have (i.e. Keiga) or just don't know about, and I need duals to smooth out the manabase.

What about untapping effects? If you had an instant speed untapping effect, couldnt you Tap Merieke, untap in response and activate again to have 2 creature? or simply untap to use as creature removal so you can steal another. Alphetto Alchemist would be utterly broken with Merieke (unless im misreading merieke), as well as Fatestitcher. Then there's plenty of 1 time ones, Twiddle, Dream's Grip. Freed from the Real or Pemnin's Aura on Merieke would allow you to machine gun the entire board.
Hmm that's a gd idea and yes that does work btw. least in my opinion unless some1 can give me some trippy psychadelic rules reason why it does not. where fetchlands got 2 have them. effectively run 2 of each dual
Another tip - put Intruder Alarm into your Merieke deck. Every time a creature comes into play, you get to untap Merieke and gain control of it (or, if Merieke is already untapped, activate Merieke in response to the trigger and destroy it).

Ever thought about adding Steal Artifact or Reins of Power?
Also, with all that steal, I'd look to add some utility lands like Diamond Valley, High Market, and Miren, the Moaning Well. Maybe even Phyrexian Tower. That way, you can benefit from your theivery a little bit more!
I'd also upgrade the countermagic with Spelljack and Desertion for more stealy-goodness.
