So, I put myself through the torture of making a sliver EDH (which I will not post, as the list takes too long to write), but I came to a screeching halt on one problem: Which is a better general, sliver Overlord or Sliver Queen? At first, I really wanted the queen, but then I got to thinking, and now I'm totally confused...
Also, are slivers viable in competitive EDH?

I've always thought that the Sliver Overlord would be a better general due to his tutoring ability. It allows you to easily search for your sliver queen and sliver legion too. So its kind of like getting all 3 generals. Whereas if you play the queen as your general, you only get the 1 at will.
I dont know what you had in mind for a deck, but just remember, Mutavault, and mirror entity are also slivers.
I agree with pringle, definitely Sliver Overlord. Not only can you tutor for 2 other generals, but sliver overlord allows you to gain control of your opponent's creatures through
For anti-wrath tech - ghostway and patriach's bidding are very good.
The biggest problem though, is that if you play slivers, you'll have a big target painted on your head and everyone at the table will always be trying to kill your overlord or wrath your board.
I cry a little bit every time one of my creatures goes to the graveyard. I also take a few minutes to talk about their time on the battlefield, and typically say a few words of remembrance. You know, what kinds of sleeves they liked, what decks they liked being in. That sort of thing. Nothing too over the top.

As well as prismatic omen.
Magma Sliver is brutal.

Also, if said board sweep allows for regeneration like Disk, Deed, or Oblivion Stone, Crypt Sliver is another excellent defense.
