This is the deck I've been playing with for a couple of months now. Its pretty fun, but I'm looking to improve it if I can. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Note: My playgroup allows the use of proxies, as long as they are of high quality. Cards with a * are proxied.
Mind stone accelerates early, and considering my sparse number of creatures in the 1-3 mana range, this is good. It cycles late game, or once you get enough lands to do what you want.
The border post is there because I don't like setting off land tax every turn, and I don't need lands that come into play untapped until t4-5.
Why not Sol Ring over the Veinfire Borderpost? Doesn't produce colored mana, but it's much more efficient at accelerating your mana.
At 5 CMC, Tyrannize seems quite a bit worse than Mind Twist as well. Given that everybody starts at 40 life, most players won't think twice about paying 7 life instead of tossing cards. Given that you're paying black, there's probably more reliable ways of causing life loss as well, if that's what you're shooting for... seems that you've already got that angle covered with Profane Command.

I'm going to purchase a lot of the proxied cards, but I'd like some advice on other options before I buy them.
High Number Death Game
20 Questions (with Magic Cards)
The first thing that comes to the top of my head is that Veinfire Borderpost can be swapped for much better cards.
The border post is there because I don't like setting off land tax every turn, and I don't need lands that come into play untapped until t4-5.

Each card in your hand is an Edict, but you don't always need 7 Edicts. These cards let you save cards for later hand filling.
Also include Crucible of Worlds.
One last note: Suspend, buyback and cards that have GY abilities (like flashback) all help you pace your hand.
