Hey looking for some help with my Rafiq of the Many combos deck:
Basically the idea is to try and pull off combos while distracting with Rafiq in combat to get removal spells (or general damage) thru.
General(1): Rafiq of the Many
Creatures(22):
Eternal Witness (combo peice) Fun with Primal command
Cloudthresher (could probally come out but my friend plays Oona as his gen)
Wall of Blossoms
Karmic Guide (combo peice)
Akroma, Angel of Wrath (beater cute with rafiq)
Yosei (combo peice)
Galepowder Mage (just solid with the amount of Cip abilitys)
Krosan Tusker (Astral Slide)
Mistmeadow Witch (same as Galepowder Mage)
Mirror Entity (Most important combo peice)
Wickerbough Elder (was thinking Viridian Zealot)
Glen Elandra Archmage (Revilark Junk protects combo)
Revilark (giggle)
Mulldrifter (card draw/combo peice)
Aven Riftwatcher (combo peice)
Qasali Pridemage
Riftwing Cloudscate (combo peice)
Venser (combo peice)
Seedborn Muse (kinda want to take out)
Body Double (amazing card/combo peice)
Spike Weaver
Knight of the Reliquary
Planeswalkers (2):
Jace (nothing special could take out)
Garruk (Mostly just for the untap ability)
Enchantments (4):
Mana Reflection (infinite mana with Basalt Monolith)
Oblivion Ring (removal/can be cute with Cip abilities)
Astral Slide (sooo many Cip abilities)
Compulsion
Artifacts (5):
All 3 Signets
Basalt Monolith (infinite Mana)
Mind Stone
Behemouth Sledge (rafig crap)
Staff of Domination
Oblivion Stone
Instant(17):
Enlightened Tutor
Frantic Search (till gifts comes back QQ)
Mystical Tutor
FoF
Bant Charm
Dismantling Blow
Return to Dust
Condemn
Momentary Blink (Cip)
Swords to Plowshares
Otherworldly Journy (cute with Cip Hilarious with Twilight shepherd)
Path to Exile
Sorcery (10):
Harmonize
Life From the Loam (Combo)
Deep Anal
Ancestral Visions
Primal Command (combo peice)
Austere Command
Regrowth
Hallowed Burial (generals to the bottom/giggle)
Akromas Vengance (only reason its in is because it has cycling really)
Lands (39):
(important ones listed)
W Cycle
G Cycle
U Cycle
W US Cycle
G US Cycle
U US Cycle
Prahv, Spires of Order (Amazing!!!!!)
Wasteland
Thats about it. Combo/Control. Rafiq and Akroma are the only real "aggro" in the deck.
Eternal Witness/Primal Command
Spike Weaver/Blink Abilities/Revilark
Mana Reflection/Basalt Monolith/Staff of Domination (adding Grim monolith if i can get 1)
Revilark/Mirror Entity/Body Double/Karmic Guide/Cip Ability or Leaves play
Life from the loam/Slide/Cycle Lands/Cip Abilities
Cloud Cover/Cip Abilities
Other than that the whole deck has incredible synergy. I would like to add in Restock as well so i can use Golgari Gravetroll to mill most of my deck then return lark(or body double/Karmic Guide) to get my combo super fast.
TOOK OUT:
Twilight shepherd
Cloud Cover
Finest Hour
Squall Line
Tidings
The Sage is occupied with the unspoken
and acts without effort.
Teaching without verbosity,
producing without possessing,
creating without regard to result,
claiming nothing,
the Sage has nothing to lose.
I've got a similar deck so some suggestions: Cowardice - Messes with Astral Slide but makes your creatures immune to spot removal. Ghostway - This is great on its own but insane with Eternal Witness in this type of deck because you can cast it every turn and keep getting it back with Eternal Witness to make all your creatures unkillable to wrath effects and it triggers all their ETB abilites. Every turn. Coiling Oracle - One of my favorite cards in the deck. Cheap ETB card advantage creature. Turn to Mist - It's no Momentary Blink but still good enough to run. Congregation at Dawn - I usually get 2 creatures I want and put Mulldrifter on top so I don't lose any card advantage. If Mistmeadow Witch is one of the creatures you can start flickering Mulldrifter for more card advantage. Woodfall Primus - There are few things I'd rather blink than this. Flickerwisp - Another blink effect Clone/Sakashima the Imposter - These can do some very crazy things in a deck full of ETB creatures and blink effects. Changeling Hero - Hard to describe why he is so good. You can champion Mystic Snake and then slide out champion with Astral Slide if your opponent casts a spell then champion the Snake again at EOT. Dust Elemental - Protects your creatures and lets you reuse their abilities. He almost always bounces himself as one of the creatures. Equilibrium - I'm sure you can find a use for this. Aura Shards - With so many creatures coming and going this can blow up a lot of permanents.
@ Donald McDonald: I think in this format and post-10 M, Turn to Mist is often preferable to Momentary Blink. Often even Liberate is better. There's so much mass removal in my local meta.
Good call on the Changling champions... I even run Wormfang Drake sometimes.
IMO I'd cut Astral Slide. The tap lands will hose you, and it won't be very consistent to warrant the speed bumps. There's enough blink effects to be had without it. But if you do keep it, the ALR landcyclers are great IMO.
And it isn't blink combo support, but Quietus Spike is too good in Rafiq to pass up. My Rafiq deck runs more aggressive using shadow, Combat damage triggers (Hystrodon) and such to abuse double strike. I went Blink/Counters with my Jenara deck. Phantom Nishoba, Revellark.. stuff like that.

I've also got Draining Whelk. With him and Mystic Snake the blink can usually stop wrath effects just fine. Of course there is nothing wrong with running all 3 in a deck like this.

I haven't tested Astral Slide but I am inclined to agree with this.

Oh yeah, that is good. I need to check my Jenara deck for a Draining Whelk... I think I forgot to include one!

Also: Spitting Image is a must for this deck.
