I'm working on a UBW EDH deck, and I'm wondering which general is best for its color. I know Sharuum is easily handsdown since deck design allows for broken artifacts e.g. Memory Jar and Tolarian Academy + Crucible to be run. I'm considering Sen Triplets but she seems too fragile. She is most likely the possibility but designing the deck would be tricky.
I'm leaning towards Ertai the Corrupted but I'm not sure how he fares in EDH. He seems weak in multiplayer but could potentially be powerful in duels. I'm trying to gear to a multiplayer group for this deck at least.
There are a number of nice Enchantments that I like with Ertai. With UBW, you can run a lot of synergistic and strong enchantments:
- Land Tax
- Bitterblossom
- Grave Pact
- Mobilization
- Planar Collapse
- Rule of Law (pretty strong with Ertai after board control)
- Arcane Laboratory (pretty strong with Ertai after board control)
- Phyrexian Arena
I'm just thinking whether White is worth it sometimes in EDH. Ertai seems good but I'm not sure whether he's strong enough to compete in big groups. If he's not, I'm going to drop white and run UB Oona most likely, abusing multiple infinite mana engines.
Any advice on whether Sen triplet's good in multiplayer?
And yes, white is rather good: Disenchant, Aura of Silence and other ways to deal with nonland permanents all help, as well as Condemn and Oblation as general-killers.

I don't play Zur. He's too good lol. I want to play someone that has style, i.e. more interesting synergies rather than locking someone out. I prefer Dagson over Zur if I want to lockout someone since Dagson allows me to run all the craziest artifacts and Tolarian Academy which I love <3
Donald, that's really cool and I might put that synergy together. I know white also gives you replenish, which is pretty broken. Any recursion for UBW? I know Green has a ton, but I'm assuming only blue offers recursion. I'll probably run Hanna, ship's navigator. I think the way I want my Ertai deck to function is to get a few key enchantment online, and counter anything that disrupts it. Key enchantments being Gravepact for board control, maybe some other kind of enchantment that locks down e.g. rule of law is pretty good with ertai. I'll run both Ertais to be annoying

I like designing decks and I am primarily a control player. Using Drain to fight Workshops is like using Exclude to fight Dark Confidant.
If you aren't running Evershrike with those, I'm going to murder you. Then I put the card in your deck. At least your soul will have eternal peace.

White has some extremely potent cards with sweepers in EDH and Akroma/condemn, but will have an incredibly difficult time actually winning you a game, so don't rely on it for that and you'll be fine.
Sen isn't bad if you realize how much of a target it can be, and don't build the deck around having Sen in it. The general is a finisher - you weaken your opponent or play Sen to force them to overextend into a sweeper or play like an idiot to prevent you from nabbing their stuff. If they don't, you grab it and generate some ridiculous CA.

Ertai deck I play against uses a Lin-Sivvi, Defiant Hero fueled rebel chain + Intruder Alarm & cards like Launch & Spirit Loop to keep Ertai going. Works pretty good.
