Me and my friends have just gotten into EDH, and I'd figure I'd post my latest write up here for critique. My biggest problem is utilizing or finding a General I like to use. Most of the time I find myself loading the board with creatures or playing lots of large burn spells, that I feel that I don't have enough mana/need for my General to hit the board. I really enjoy B/R and have played around a lot with different options (Tsabo Tavoc, Kaervek, Lyzolda) and Malfegor seems to be the best at disrupting boards with shroudy/indestructible Generals that I usually play against. It works much better duel wise, but without enchantment hate, it can suffer, and we mostly play Pentagram/2v2/Multiplayer EDH in my playgroup.
Mainly, I try to gain lots of mana with Black Market, and the Coffers Combo, and funnel it into burn spells for lots of damage at a player or General, while making very large creatures with the Shades, and keeping my board position strong with enchantments and persistent threats.
The only cards I feel I absolutely need to add are: a Chainer's Edict and a Filth for once Urborg hits the board. I really feel like the deck doesn't work if I don't have the Urborg or lots of swamps on the board. I'd really like to make this multiplayer oriented, but I know Red burn really is not ideal for it. Any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe Yawgmoth's Will & Crucible of Worlds to get back Urborg if it gets destroyed. Yawgmoth's Will also has the added bonus of being crazy broken with lots of mana. Necropotence could be used to refill your hand quickly after you drop Malfegor.
Madness and Flashback spells are also your friends, but find the ones you like and use them.
My final suggestions, and by far the best one I've got is to play Ensnaring Bridge. On the off chance that they recover from your general's ability, they won't be able to attack as you will be living off the top. Then you can just go to town at your leisure.
I too have built a Malfegor deck (and am working on revising the deck to be better currently). You can find the deck list listed either in the Deck Archive in this forum, or use the link in my signature to get to it.
The thing I have found with Malfegor, is that the best way to utilize the deck is to use cards that WANT to be discarded. Or that take advantage of being in the graveyard or having no hand or some such thing. Other than that, Malfegor is really the only 137 creature kill effect you are going to need in this deck. So Fleshbag Marauder and similar things are kind of useless.
If you are serious about utilizing the X-Burn spells, then my largest piece of advice I can offer you is this: Ditch Braids, Cabal Minion. The reason being, that she causes you to get absolutely NO net gain of lands when you play her, even when you have a crucible in play. If you absolutely MUST run Braids, then also run Goblin Assault and Bitterblossom as those will allow you to maintain the card advantage necessary to pull off what appears to be this decks win condition.
Also, Demonspine Whip is not nearly as useful as Loxodon Warhammer as that would be one of the few methods of lifegain in this type of deck.

Good Luck.
The problem with Ensnaring Bridge, is that it affects ALL players, including the player who played it. And most Malfegor decks WANT to be attacking with their General. As such I do NOT recommend it.
Thanks for that, my biggest problem with EDH and this deck seems to be that whoever my general is, I always neglect their abilities, and I guess I'm just unfocused about how I want the deck to be. I really enjoy black distruption and red burn, I just have a tough time finding an EDH general that I can use effectively and build a deck around.
Malfegor is awesome for a 6/6 Flyer that makes opponents sacrifice a creature, I just am unsure if I want to build around him. Whenever I play with him, I hesitate to discard my creatures because when I have enough mana to play him I usually end up with tons of X-Burn spells or big creatures, like Reiver Demon, and Knollspine Dragon (Who is so awesome in this format) in my hand that I don't want to discard. So I usually just don't play Malfegor because it feels unnessecary.
I'm sure he has great utility along side tons of graveyard recurrsion (I saw your EDH deck write up, and it's very synergized), I just am unsure if I want to disrupt what I have going.
The Loxodon Warhammer seems like a must inclusion, I will deifnitely have to pick one up. I'll have to see about switching the contents of the deck for more graveyard recursion, or finding a better general. I may just keep the deck the way it is and switch back to Tsabo Tavoc.
