Well, I was just browsing forums for some deck ideas, and I just thought of a random deck. Please don't make fun if this is a bad idea, but what about a Blue/Artifact deck. My idea was to play some low cost creatures, and play cranial plating amongst other artifacts to pump them up. Then just play a bunch of bouncy, control and counter spells. I was also considering getting the akromas legacy artifact i believe where all of your creatures get like flying, firststrike, trample etc.
I don't know, I jsut thought it seemed okay, please feel free to add suggestions for this deck, which I kinda want to be a fairly low budget too.

Honestly a guy locally made a similar deck himself, and it was interesting. It wasn't the top-tier deck at the table, but it still had survivability. Quite interesting to say the least. The idea is not that bad of one, but it definitely would benefit from cards such as Tezzeret the Seeker and other similar cards to help speed it up considerably.

Thanks, and i was curious if you could help me come up with some basic cards to include, right now im jsut goin through a box lookin for counters like mana leak and counterspell, but im not sure as to what creatures to get, and what equipments other then cranial plating
Personally, i believe you should either play Mishra (Free shuffle effects because you're only playing singletons), Sen Triplets (Control), or Sharuum the Hegemon (Recur key combo pieces).
Also, Academy Ruins will be a requirement. And if you're playing Academy Ruins, you should consider Mindslaver, they're best friends in EDH.

cranial plating can be equiped for 1 colorless?
I wanna keep this just as blue/artifact
It has BB on it, so it cannot be played unless your general has B in its mana cost. Although, that doesn't preclude a general like Oona or Sigg if you want to stay mono-blue.
The General's mana cost limits what coloured mana symbols may appear on cards in the deck: if a coloured mana symbol is not present in the General's mana cost, the deck may not contain any cards using that mana symbol. Lands with a basic land type (basic lands, Shock lands, Dual lands, Shadowmoor CIPT-basics, etc) contain the corresponding mana symbol(s) as per CR 212.6g.
Example: If you were play Phelddagrif (Casting cost 1UWG) as your General, your deck may not contain any red or black cards; no card in such a deck may contain red or black mana symbols or hybrid mana symbols ( Talisman of Dominance, Life//Death and Boros Guildmage are not allowed. Degavolver is doubly bad).
So yeah, Cranial Plating is illegal unless your general is sporting some black in the casting cost.
Besides, if you're going strictly budget you've got the other Nim cards, or if you don't mind dropping $10 or so here and there, there's always Demonic, Vampiric, and Mystical Tutors.
well i am not playing in any tournaments with this deck, i am just playing with friends in bigger games of like 4-6 people.
I really dunno what i want to make as of right now, I just want to be the one to win for a change
well you might want to consider looking around at the various Sharuum the Hegemon EDH decks that are listed on this forum. Some of them are quite expensive, but all are quite good in multiplayer. Sharuum is currently one of the best Generals, and it is also one of the few that actually supports artifact based themes.

Definitely Braids, Conjurer Adept. She can accelerate tons of fat artifact creatures (free Sundering Titan? Darksteel Colossus? Mindslaver?). The only problem with Blue Braids is that she accelerates other peoplez too (so probably drop her on eot after Teferi, Mage of Zafir hits play), but if you build the deck right, you can accelerate into the bigger and more punishing artifacts.
EDIT: I just realized that braids helps accelerate artifacts, CREATURES, and lands, and that... makes her much worse.

yeah, I would actually advise AGAINST Braids, Conjurer Adept... unless you are specifically building around her, which isn't all too difficult to do... you just need some lock pieces to prevent your opponents from doing anything... me thinks a blue stax build would be ideal

I think the consensus would be that the best generals in a predominately artifact themed deck would be Arcum Dagsson and Sharuum the Hegemon. Both can be totally busted combo decks, but I imagine could be built fairly too.
Although he's not technically legal, if you aren't playing in tournaments, maybe Memnarch would be a cool general for you. He's not a legal general under the current rules though.
Maybe the group could give you better advice if you described your play-style and what appeals to you in a deck.
Personally I think this would be a great deck. I don't have any good ideas but Memnarch seems good. I think there is a card that makes everything an artifact. I could be wrong as I don't remember the name. If there is that would be a nice mini-combo.

Technically if your using Memnarch then all your cards will need to be colorless or artifacts, but you could use Memnarch as a blue general if ur play group allowed it.

I think you mean Akroma's Memorial.
