New to the game here. I recently got the ruthless regiment precon deck, and I have a question regarding Nahiri the Harbinger and Humble Defector.
Let's say I use Nahiri's last ability and search for Humble Defector to activate his ability. Then, an opponent gains control over it. Does it still returns to my hand at the beggining of the next step ?
Nahiri's ruling states that it the card leaves the battlefield, it cannot return to my hand, but in this case, it hasnt left the battlefield. So, does this still happen (return to my hand).
Does the same applies if someone steals the card I brought with Nahiris last ability ?
The ruling only applies if it hasn't left the battlefield. It doesn't matter if the permanent changes owners, it will still return to your hand at the end of turn.
For what its worth, I think one strong option in the precon is to fetch Skullclamp with Nahiri's ultimate (the last ability). You can easily recast it later, and you can draw a load of cards off your creatures and the tokens your commander creates. And you can easily recast it the next turn. The downside is you're not really cheating on mana, but I don't think that the precon has something crazy like a Sun Titan. Maybe its something worth keeping in mind.
